Just upgraded from a TT to a 5th Wheel. Keystone Challeger 33 DBB, and need to quickly have a hitch installed to take delivery. Dealer sent me to Camping World. They only offer to options for a hitch with a slide.

Keystone comes wiht an extended pin, but was told to still get a slider since I have a short bed F250.

Can anyone help or lead me to the perfect hitch without spending too much money. Would like to stay middle road with cost.

While you don't give your weight requirements, I have been very happy with my Reese and manual slider.

Dry 11250 Gross 14320 Hitch 2320. What looking at 16K Manual slider. Some offer round slide bars vs square. Reese has 3 differnt quality lines.

I'll just say this...at some point in the future, you'll probably wish you had popped for a bit more money an bought a PullRite SuperGlide. That revelation will come just after the sickening sound of glass breaking and metal crunching because your 5er and truck cab just became "kissing cousins"! Best investment for safe RVing I've made in almost 30 years of towing! Cheap insurance against the possibility of a trip to the body shop!

Short bed F250 TurboDiesel crew cab truck with a PullRite SuperGlide 18K for 3 years now. And a Jayco fiver.

I have a 16K tube slider from Reese and works fine for me I have a short bed crew cab and have only had to slide it once. I have backed into some tight spots and doesnt even come close to hitting. Had to jack knife once and slide the hitch I don't know if I needed to but did it as a safety precaution.

When we were shopping for our hitch I was challenged by several here on this forum to pony up for the superglide. I took their advice and so far I have been very happy with it. I have spoken to dozens of superglide users and not one had anything negative to say except about the price of the thing. Pullrites customer service is outstanding too. If you are up to it you can buy one on line and install it yourself. That's what I did. I bought from http://bigdiscountrv.com/ They were very easy to deal with.

Just my 2 cents
(which if added to $4.00 might get you a gallon of gas)

Spend the extra money and have them install the Superglide. "IF" you are sure you will hit the cab in a tight turn. I've seen 2 guys blow there windows out and dent their cab's. It will be good money spent.

Has a Husky 16k manual slider on short box Dodge, works fine. Whatever you buy, make sure it's a slider.

I started with manual sliders. They worked but sort of a pain in the neck. When I got an extended pin box, I bought a 20K Reese that did not slide. I really liked the hitch, and used it for about 4 years. We traded for another trailer that had the Mor Ride pin box. This box is a little shorter then the old one. I made it fine until I sent the guy that works for me over to Amarillo for a short repair job. On the way home that day he pulled into a Dairy Queen, and was watching the tires that he did not turn them too short. He forgot to watch the truck and trailer. He took out my rear window. Got that fixed and finished out the season with no problems. This winter we ordered the Super Glide, and it works like a charm. This should be the last hitch I will ever own.
