Of course, maybe it would simply be more appropriate to bring your concerns up in an ATVing forum rather than in an RVing forum. There are lots of ATV-devoted forums out there (search for "ATV forum" with your favorite search engine).

Whats not appropriate about discussing it here in the "Toy Hauler" Section? Its where this type of thing belongs. Its what we do and about where we go.

I have to agree with Quadhauler and others who don't think it should have been closed like that. We should be allowed to discuss this here and if one bad apple tries to ruin it then delete them or their post and let the topic continue.

Yes, I agree. But toy haulers are also used by (street) motorcycling folks and folks with other kinds of toys, too. I've seen folks in street and offroad bicycling with THs as well.

I think the main thing to keep in mind is that RV.net (in all of its various guises) is a very large forum, which results in topics being displayed to all its many, many thousands of users, no matter what their feelings are on "controversial" topics: ATVing, Walmart blacktopping, firearms, you name it. That is the primary reason why I suggested some ATV-specific forum. In addition, RV.net (and guises) has some quite specific rules that we all have to live by, and the moderators are asked to be more stringent than moderators in other forums I take part in, though I suspect that this is primarily a result of the very large number of users of the forum.

Fine to complain when it is something you do not agree with or have a opinion on or something you personnaly do not enjoy doing

BUT I garuantee you that when a Eco Nazi Shuts down one of your Favorite counrty roads that you cruise down on riding your harley, because the excessive noise. or the Flashing of the sunlight on your Blinging Chrome distrupts a Mating Bird that chose to build a nest 10 feet from teh road.

you will be on here complaing to the masses as well and looking for support on how to fight the closure.

And us Lowly ATV-ers Could say "well there is Harley forums for that"

Or we could and probably would/will band together to help you fight it because many of us are not NIMBY's

Although I don't haul off road toys in my toyhauler as I am one of those who hauls harleys and other stuff I see no reason why off road topics shouldn't be here. As the others are saying a good portion of toyhaulers are for off road riders. If I can put in my two cents, this is where that type of discussion should be accomplished.

If it is something that doesn't concern me, then I can go to the next topic. As someone said earlier, if it becomes an issue where I can't take my Harley, I would sure like to let my opinions and options be known to others with the same interests. The Harley forum may not be the best option for something that pertains to others who travel with their motors in a toyhauler.

Just had to add my two cents in support of options for this forum.

I also don't have a problem with giving an opinion! In the forum that I run for my local community (still under some development, but set up and tested on the net), the only thing that's strictly prohibited is ad hominem attack; since people are people, I suggest that folks simply avoid topics that are almost guaranteed to degenerate into these attacks.

But that's precisely the problem with a really big forum like RV.net. I don't envy the job of the moderators!

Please!! We are not in the 5th grade Lynn! How hard is it for a moderator to see an outsider come into the toy hauler forum and begin insulting the entire crowd? It makes no difference if you off road or not, this is not YOUR forum. A very large portion of the people in the toy hauler forum do off road, so issues on land closure are near and dear to our hearts. We don't have any problems discussing these issues amongst ourselves, it's when the blue hairs chime in and tell us we are a bunch of loud irresponsible drunks that the problem starts. Can you not see that? Really I think it's safe to say half the toy hauler crown are off road enthusiast so a discussion on off road issues should be perfectly acceptable on a toy hauler forum. The issue is not the problem, the instigator is.

I know how to stop 90% of the closures in the Toy Hauler section.

In the big blue line at the top of the page you will see "Newest, Active, Popular" click on any one of them and it shows you the new topics in all of RV.Net. For someone with lots of time on their hands this is a temptation to meddle in sections they normally would never see.

If the "Newest, Active, Popular" would only show the "Newest, Active, Popular" for the section you are in you would be less likely to stick your nose in were it doesn't belong, getting normal posters in that section all riled up.

I know for me I have no clue what they are talking about in most of the other sections of RV.Net nor do I want to know.
