Hi,

We've had our fiver 3 months now and have taken 4-5 trips out already, mostly short ones.
I got to thinking yesterday on our way home from a quick weekend trip about our tires.
Checked them out & they are DURO, 225x75Dx15, and I was just wondering if I should keep these on for a while? Are they a bad tire ?
The trailer is new, but sat on lot of dealer for about 3 months before we got it.
Just wondering what the thought is out there.
Should I get rid of them before they blow out if that is something that seems to happen early on with this tire ?
Or how many miles should I go before just replacing them for security reasons ??
Thanks everyone as I appreciate all your info and advise!

Any tire you put on your rig can blow.

I've personallly had excellent luck with Duros. I've put thousands of miles on Duro tires and have never had an issue related to tire quality. I've got another set on my FW now,and they are running fine.

When these wear out,I'll look at another set of Duros.

No tires are bad, just bad tire owners. Duros are a good tire, take care of them with the right pressure, don't overload and don't speed. I had duro's on before my Carlisles and have had excellent service fom both sets.

I have seen lots of posts like yours lately of people looking to change new or nearly new tires. Lots of people looking for tire problems that dont exist, because of forum tire mania.

I'm feeling a little better now.

The DH always checks tires before we leave.
He doesn't speed when towing - he goes about 65 MPH max now.
They are not overloaded and we keep track of that too!

Thanks everyone!

As Stated above, any tire can blow. I have had no issues with mine. Hold air without loss, don't track on freeway cracks and handled the few rocky areas I've taken them on nicely.
I haven't read any bad things about them online. I'd say that I'd look into replacements once the ones that I have wear out.

Duro tires are OK. Haven't had any trouble with ours yet after about
8,000 to 10,000mi(Keystone Larado 29rk loaded to 9,262lbs)
Not my first choice but were on the 5er when got in in 06.
This year is there last year on the trailer.
when we return from out trip at the end of June I will start
shopping for new tires for the 5er.
As for you I'd just keep them on and see how that hold up.
Save the $$$ for fuel and enjoy your rig.

I have factory Duro's on my trailer and they are one year old now. So far they are fine but I have thought about changing them because of what I read on here about Chinese tires. The one thing I don't like is the 65mph limit on these tires. I don't run fast but going downhill I brake at 66mph and hate it. When they need replacing I am going with Maxis.

My OEM Duros have survived 2.5 years including some temps over 110 and some 70 mph speeds but mostly 55. I would estimate 6000 miles so far. I plan to replace with Maxxis when the tread is worn or they get old.

My factory Duro's lasted all of 2 years and cracked to pieces. I was glad to get rid of them. Put on Maxxis and have been very pleased. Tough call on yours. I would keep using them until the first cracks appear, but be vigilant on checking them.

We had Duro's on ours also! Gave us good service. Almost wished I had replaced them instead of trying to "upgrade" to Goodyear Marathons. Marathons blew up with only 600 miles. I now have Denman E rated. We shall see!

I wouldn't hesitate to use the new Duro Radial but wanted an "E" rated tire. I believe Duro only comes in "D" and smaller.

Best of Luck!
