I use small gage wire, insulate it and put the hot side of 110v on it, attach earth ground to mh, when the peck, they get fried. You do have to post signs, electrial hazzard, enter at your own risk.

Spray some airsol hairspray over the area to dull-up the reflection, when the season is over in a few weeks wash off easy with warm water and a rag

Try dry ice and a can of peas. Stack the dry ice all around the coach, and cut a small hole in it. Open the can of peas and make a small trail of peas leading away from the hole. When the birds come to take a pea, kick em in the icehole.

For the past few weeks birds have been attacking all the chrome on our RV. (over the entrance steps, mudflap, wheels & exhaust pipe). I'm also afraid they may be nesting in the engine compartment, and could that be a fire hazard to us?

We have an owl posted guard at the door, sometimes he works. But other than posting 7 owls around the entire RV, any other suggestions??

I know many will suggest ammunition, and we have tried that too. Although only a BB is allowed, since I won't let DH shoot that close to the RV, but it's not working either. These things WILL NOT stay still they jump around like crazy, pecking at the chrome. They are literally damaging it with their pointy beaks.

Please give me suggestions.

You reminded me of a true story. Before I retired I worked 2nd shift often until 3 or 4 in the morning. One spring a little blue bird sat on the wire outside of the house. He would launch himself off the wire and fly right into my patio door repeatedly. So for months I was often awakened by this thudding sound many times at 6 in the morning. I called the State DNR and asked what I could do. They suggested blow up or pictures of owls, snakes or other preditors. It didn't slow him down one bit. The next spring he was back and again I called the DNR and asked what could be done besides shooting this little peckerwood, and they said that he would quit as soon as he found a mate. So this went on unabated for the second spring. The third year my favorite fellow returned and low and behold sitting on the wire next to him was the mate. She sat there and watched as he repeatedly threw himself at my sliding glass door for the third spring. I told my wife that she shouldn't be suprised to come home and find me spread eagled on the floor unconsious with nothing but bluebirds tail feathers sticking out my nose.

Fortunely, for me, he has never returned.

The only suggestion I can come up with is possibly covering the rig when not in use. I know it is a pain in the neck but it is the only way I can think of that would foil the attacks.
