I just completed a "tune-up" on my genset, Now it won't fire. I had replaced the oil and Sparkplug and air filter.
My tank is full, the fuel pump is pumping... I took the fuel line at the carb off and pressed the start switch.. fuel gushed...
I've tried starter fluid is only a slight change is symptoms.. it fires once or twice (Cycles) then nothing...
This genset ran fine prior to the tuneup.. now squat?
Any clues?
Model is 4KYFA26100A
Where can I find a manual online... ?
thanks.

Are the plugs gapped right.I know some come pregapped, but you should check for spark. You should check to see if you knocked a wire loose somewhere also.

Had the same thing happen to me. It was just that the oil was low. If the oil is low it will not start.

2nd to check your oil level and the wire on the oil sending unit to make sure you did not pull it loose.

stick the old plug in the plug wire and hold it to the block with some pliers and see if it fires then stick the new plug in and see if it fires the new plug could have been dropped at some time or another between being made and when it was sold
if your plug wire is connected to the blue box make sure you didn't knock the white wire off

I checked the Oil.. it's middle of hash marks, I do have spark when the old plug is connected to the wire and held near the frame.
I did not see any loose wires, where is the oil sender located? it would be a lot simpler if it wasn't under an RV!

I hope your asking if I checked both old and new plugs.. Yep, I did just now add a bit more oil to answer another line concern. and it fired up, but is throttling and then dies, mayhap's too much oil now.. but the stick still reads in the hashed level.. should I drain it again and measure out 1.7 quarts. just how sensitive is this oil sensor? and is it a hi/lo or just lo?

I was asking if you checked both plugs, the one on the front and the one on the rear? You could have a choke problem, or a carb adjustment problem.
BUT, I am not a Gen. Tech.!
Good luck.

A Micro Quiet 4000 only has one spark plug.
The oil level switch is only low, not high/low.
ONAN did away with the level switch on the later models and published a PSB (Product Support Bulletin) to unplug the switch on the earlier models. Just check the oil before each use until you have an idea of the oil consumption, if any.
