We have just bought our first TT and low and be hold it has a few tears in the roof material not knowing how long it has been torn and how much water has gotten to the wood underneath. My guestion is what do I let the dealer do? patch the holes or should I demand a new roof as this is what I paid for a one piece rubber roof. What about mold and wood damage.Any help or ideas will be of help as we have had no experience with RV dealers or Forest River.

IF new then I agree. If used we would need to see your contract. What you can do in a few minutes with EternaBond tape can stop future leaks at least.

Interesting. I had one hole in my roof too when new, (Wildwood by Forest River) about the size of a lead pencil diameter. I emailed zoomed in pics to the dealer, put clear tape over it and then when it was a dry day, filled it with Dicor. Didn't seem to be any mold or dark coloring in the hole or water damage inside (stains) over the shower area.

Looked to me like a branch poked it possibly during transport from the factory.

If you have multiple holes I would seal it with clear shipping tape and get it back to the dealer for repairs. See what they want to do. I haven't had a problem with my dicor filled hole in over a year since.

Thanks I have owened the trailer for not quite a month. And I have contacted the dealer with pic,s on the way my worry is the the unseen damage that may be present under the roof, the repair I would think should be the easy part of this.

with it being that new you must return to dealer. Friendly advice. You can demand ANYTHING until your nose falls off. The MFG will tell the dealer what will be covered (repairs) and that is what the dealer will do. If the MFG approves a whole new roof, then thats what you will get. If they only approve some dicor fill ins. Thats what you will get. I am willing to bet that they will not check for mold, but "BY ALL MEANS" ask them to. The MFG might just allow them to. BEST OF LUCK--hope it gets fixed to satisfy. TIM

What you and other people don,t know is my wife is a pit viper if I release her the MFG will be flying to WI to look at the trailer with a free loner for the summer. As a business owner I can tell them this is Not the first time this has happend so they already know what it is going to take to fix this trailer properly. That is why I already want every thing in wrighting. As for my wife she spent her working years as a subornatoist specialist. We will see what we will

If your trailer sat on the dealer's lot throughout the winter, I would be afraid that the snow slowly melted and seeped into the roof structure. Have you noticed any stains on the inside ceiling?
Also, a proper PDI by the dealer's mechanic would have found those holes before you took delivery.

If no other damage, I would be OK with proper repairs which would be less of a impact than if the entire roof were to be re-covered.

No stains in the trailer the holes are located above the bunk house slide out what we noticed was water on the floor of the bunk house when it was opened. After putting Bounce sheets on the floor to keep mice out my wife said the one in the bunk room was stuck to the floor as if it had gotten wet this was before I found the tears. PS my daughter will be home this weekend so maybe she can get some pic,S up for me.
