If I'm drinking full leaded (sugar) I prefer pepsi. If I'm drinking unleaded (diet) I prefer diet coke. I was 45 years old before I would ever drink a diet soda, diet coke was the only one I could choke down until I got used to it.

Really cute story. I didn't know Coke would clean cast iron, is that true? Only Royal Crown cola for me, Diet Pepsi for DH.

You don't really drink that awful tasting "Coke" stuff do you ??

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

ahhh ... Becky, Bless yor heart ... if your gonna drink the only sodi pop made for humankind... you gotta learn to say it's name correctly..

It's pronounced ... "ARE-ROW-SEE COLA"

Ya'll must be from one of them big cities up north, if'n you call it "Royal Crown".

Us true southerners always dump a little bag of "Tom's Peanuts" into the RC before drinking.. That way we can eat our dinner and drink it all at the same time...

Just for clarification for all of y'all that think maybe Rebecca may be upset with my teasing her..
you gotta remember that in the south, a person can say just about anything they want to somebody, as long as it ain't ugly, and get away with it as long as they say ... "Bless yor Heart" at the same time..

It's a southern thang..

heh heh heh heh .... I'm with you Rebecca, I'll take RC Cola over all the other Cola brands.. it just taste better..

I only buy Coke because it pays my bills. (literally) lol I work for Coke. If I didn't, it would be store brand all the way although I LOVE the taste of Coke.

Rebecca, yes, just as Coke will clean your battery cables on your car, Coke will get rid of rust on cast iron. If there's a lot, you can soak it overnight. If just a little, a couple hours. Either soak the rust in coke, or dab it on with a rag. You need to re-season it after that, though.

PS, For something that caustic, it's amazing that it doesn't tear up our stomachs!

I pour coke (or store brand, or any brand) over a very inexpensive pork roast and cook in the crock pot with some sliced up onions. Very easy and very good.
