Wow... you really are a "jerk" because if you took the time to read someones post you would find that not a single person actually said the clothes should be thrown away. I'm sure it took you longer to type this response rather than actually read what you were responding to.

Also I do not see where it was anyone was so militant as to say that someone should have to stare at the vibrations of the machine for it's entire duration just that it's common courtesy to try to be back in time to remove them yourself, or not FLIP OUT because someone did it for you.

Okay, some of you are also "jerks" (especially any suggestion of throwing out the clothes). Obviously you people don't use a laundrymat on a weekly basis (not everyone has a washer and dryer at home) and don't have a clue.

I certainly don't have to time to sit for a couple of hours in a laundrymat (which I use all the time, no washer at home) "guarding" my clothes. I either have other stores to hit or work to do at home.

However I DO know how long the load is going to take and I make sure I am back in time (or before) to remove them. Guess what, that does NOT make me a "jerk". On occasion, I am delayed due to circumstances beyond my control, again, that does not make me a "jerk".

Yes, it is perfectly acceptable to remove a load and place it in a basket or on top of the machine, but anything beyond that (as in "retaliatory" action) is a CRIME (vandalism) and YOU can be arrested for it.

On the other side of the coin, I did see a video once from a security camara where someone removed a woman's clothes from a washer and set them neatly aside so he could use that washer. The woman came back and "retaliated" by pouring a whole gallon of bleach in the washer ruining the guy's cloths. Being a jerk goes both ways.

So get over those "He's a jerk" and "I'd throw his clothes away" infantile urges and try being kind and considerate to others. It usually gets returned in the end.

Lots of people are slow poke jerks.
Some other examples: 1.Leaving vehicle at gas pump while shopping in station.
2.Leaving computer connected to the internet when not using. Or, downloading video. Uses up broadband space on WIFI so others can't get on line.
3. Picking slowly through the buffet selections while others are lined behind you. Load your plate and move!
4.Clean-flushing black tank at dump station while others wait.
5.Writing amount in checkbook while holding up the line.
6. Hesitating at intersections due to talking on the cell phone.

List goes on and on.

Using a check at the express lane of the grocery store should be a felony. If you don't have cash, swipe your debit card, enter your pin, etc. before the groceries have all been scanned.

If you don't want to use a debit card, use cash.

The rude & offensive one is the person leaving their stuff unattended. Give it a few minutes & then dump their stuff. Why should you feel guilty. If they are offended - good - maybe it won't happen again.

He was a jerk because he yelled at the poor gal for folding his laundry... It was the definition of "inconsiderate" (he was not considering anyone else) when he decided to wash 3 pairs of jeans hogging a washer and dryer when it wouldn't have hurt anything to wash the jeans just this once with the darks. Although someone with OCD might appreciate his attention to proper sorting technique...

You all have been kind in reassuring me that I didnt commit a crime when I removed the mans laundry. I have been fortunate to have met some very nice and kind people when we're out traveling and I want to end this on a nicer note as some people have felt offended by this post or responses. On a side note the comment about writing checks in the fast lane reminded me of a nice couple who let us go in front of them because we only had one item so I thanked them and said "ok so now where did I place that check book? Did I bring the coupon?" Their eyes sort of gave them away (tho they didnt say anything) I told them I was just kidding, we have cash and thanked them again. They both just laughed and said thanks for not writing a check or paying in coins and we all laughed. Its nice to share a smile with strangers, sometimes it can really brighten a day.

Yes, the laundromat guy was a jerk! He was a jerk for yelling at you, and inconsiderate for putting you in that position of HAVING to move his laundry. I'm sorry this happened to you, hopefully you'll meet nicer people next time you need to do laundry at a campground.

The other part that surprises me is where you stood for five minutes getting yelled at! What's up with that? You certainly didn't owe him any explanations, and his rudeness continued to keep you from your laundry.

You would have been justified to tell him to stop speaking to you in that tone, and then get on with your laundry! You were waaaaayyyy nicer to him than I would have been.

Kimette - you sound like a truly thoughtful person - and I'm sorry you ran into a classless jerk. Take heart in knowing *most* RVers are far nicer than that!!

Sorry, I missed her second post where she said the guy yelled at her.

Yes, in that case, he WAS a jerk.

My previous response was becuase the general attitude of some responses seemed to be of the attitude they ANYONE who didn't stay right by the machine during the whole cycle ready to pluck thier clothes out the moment it stopped was a jerk.

THAT was what I was defending. Some of us DO have better things to do than stand there watching the clothes go round and round.
