With Spring ending and Summer approaching pests such as flies, ants, mosquitoes are gonna be out in full force. So how do you keep them out of your trailer so you don't go insane thinking something is buzzing you or crawling on you?
Thanks,
Dave

Oooohhhh....THOSE pests! LOL
I thought you meant .... nevermind.
I just keep the place as clean as possible. I never leave food sitting around and make sure I wipe the counters down well. I've trained the kids to make sure the dorr is closedafter they enter or exit. If we are in a skeeter area I use the screen room...that really helps.
I've never had a problem with pests in the pup.

flies, ants and mosquitoes are part of camping. If you don't like them you should stay home.
(keeping your door shut works too LOL).

One thing I thought about is spraying ant spray around the tires, stabilizers, hoses and front tow hitch wheel. Beyond that just making sure everything is closed or not opened for long. I hate ants and mosquitoes with a passion, OK not a passion, like a nightmare!

Ants- I spread diatemaceoous earth around the tires and stab jacks, I grease a spot on the power cord (they won't cross grease) and the inside of the TT has already been doused with boric acid in all the nooks and crannies.
Flies- short of the glue strips I have not used anything for them.
Mosquitoes- we burn citronella scented Tiki torches in the evenings, does it help ?...not sure but it helps light the way around the CG without using lights !

We always keep ant traps in the PUP. Last summer we took off to the north for a week, it was bugs. We camped by a river with all the beauty's of nature around us. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Only problem we had was the mosquitoes, the no see um bugs, black flies. We had to light our OFF! PowerPad Mosquito Lamp in the add a room along with one by the campfire and on our picnic table. Along with that we bought a fog spray, gave a good spray every evening. They were bad, normally we only light one off powerpad and that works. Beside them entering the PUP I never have had a real problem with that. Kept the lights off in the PUP as much as possible along with not running in and out and shutting the door very quickly as I was worried about them entering. Sorry I can't help you more, I am sure someone will have great advice. BTW you can buy ant traps that push into the ground outside, I have thought of buying a couple and setting them around the PUP.

Most annoying are those little gnats that get through the screen mesh. We always find a bunch of them dead in the morning. Moving air seems to be the best defense against all kinds of insects. Keep a fan going all the time. You can even run a portable one outside.

Very easy, and very effective. We do this all the time and have no bug problems in the trailer. Get a couple citronella candles, open them and just set them out. You don't have to lite them, just set them out. One one each end of the trailer (inside). Bugs will stay out! That simple!
