Ok guys, give it to me straight...while sitting at the camper tonight having "Happy Hour"with the father in law, he glanced at my tires and said..."you need new tires son". I looked at them and he was right. They had cracks all the way around the tire. I don't want to have to worry about a blow out this summer when the DW and I are on the road. I also was told by the father in law to have them filled with nitrogen?? That is what he has on his Prevost. I think they fill them with nitrogen alot in tires in FL. I don't know where in the world I will find that here in Virginia. Any ideas????

Thanks,

Northern Neck

Costco does it when you buy tires there. I have seen a couple of tire places offer to fill your tires for free.

IMO you only need nitrogen, more than the normal 80% or so that is in normal air, if you plan to drive over 100 mph. Important in race cars.

So if it is free, fine, if it costs money, IMO tell them no.

Don't forget to put on new metal valve stems, and get them balanced. Personally I prefer NON Chinese tires, it is a choice.

I think you already have 16 inch wheels. I would go with Michelin Ribs, B F Goodrich Commercial TA’s or Uniroyal. Go with a LT tire and not the cheap Chinese ST’s.
