I have a crack in the Gray water tank at the top of the tank. It only leaks when it's full or facing down hill, But it leaks a lot. Has any one repaired there tank? The tanks not poly but ABS plastic. I've pulled the tank off so I can do a proper repair. I would replace it with a new one but I'm having a hard time finding one to fit in the space I have.

Your best bet is to replace it but if you're absolutely sure it's ABS (most are polyproplylene) you can glue it. Buy the glue that's specifically for ABS. Check at your local big box store and find ABS in sheets and buy a piece big enough to cover the area. If it's a split, drill a small hole at each end and glue the piece of sheeting to the tank. You can also weld it but most people aren't equiped to do so. As a last resort, you could try J-B Weld on it.
If you're interested in replacing it check this place. www.plastic-mart.com

I recently repaired a 1/2 inch crack on a gray water tank with EternaBond tape and it held. It would allow the tank and crack to move as it was filled without leaking. I could never get a glue joint that would not seperate when the tank expanded as water was added.

I have repaired 3 holding tanks with Eternabond and all 3 held up with no problems. Best way to repair.

Looks like I'll run down to the local RV store for some Eternabond.

I have repaired ABS things by mixing a putty of ABS cement with ABS filings and forcing it into the crack and then building up putty over the repair. Rough it up first.
