We're very new to this! . My father-in-law gave us a 1994 Conquest. We have two small children and we'd like for them to be able to watch TV or a DVD while we're traveling, but I have no idea how to hook it up. We've got a regular plug-in, a port for like a coaxial cable, and a cigarette-lighter type of port that says "12vdc Winegard Amplified TV Antenna Only". What goes in that last one and how does it hook up to the tv? Will they be able to watch while we drive? Thanks for any help you can offer!

Does it look anything like the wall plate at the bottom of this page? Either way, the Winegard site would be a good place to get your questions answered.

Attach coaxial cable from TV to that outlet. There is a little button on outlet push it a little light will come on, TV now works out of bowtie antenna on trailer roof. Push button again and light will go out, TV now works off of cable at your campground site if they have cable TV. You would need to hook a cable from their connector to the one on the outside of your trailer

Both options obviously (or maybe not obviously) can only be used when you are parked.
If you want entertainment on the road, a small re-chargable dvd player with a 7" lcd screen and head phones would be best.

If we connected an inverter to the battery, could we plug a DVD player into it and have it on while driving?

Just make sure the driver can NOT watch TV while driving.. Don't matter if he does or not (Well, does matter) but the law is concerned with "is the television located where he CAN watch TV"
Hence the interlocks on many motor homes that turn the TV off when the engine is on.
You will need either a 12 volt tv, or a small inverter... I suggest TRUE SINE WAVE inverters as televisions and the like prefer them.

That port is for if you are wanting to use a 12V television you can plug it into that cigarette-lighter.
