colorado caravan wrote: I am looking towards new tires for the TV and I came across a great deal on some retreaded tires, so would you run the retreads? The guy warranties them to 2/32. But that really doesn't matter in the middle of a trip and you get a "detread"!

I have used them in a commercial truck tire (19.5) and had zero problems. But as pointed out earlier, you are not supposed to run retreads on the steering axle. Not a big deal on an 18 wheeler, but on a pickup truck it limits your options for rotating them!

I run caps on the front of my F-350...it's fine on anything smaller than 19.5's.

I wouldn't. Not about to endanger the welfare of my DW, family or me trying to save a few bucks on tires.

Nope. Boss , 35 years ago, put them on commercial truck I was driving. 8 tires (retreads) went south in 2 weeks. Not worth it.
