Charlie,
Tri and dual fuel conversions leave the gasoline system intact and fully functional while adding the ability to use propane and or Natural Gas. I have several gensets that will use all three fuels and love the convenience.

Conversion kits

Thanks for the link, but I just do not see how to install one of those on a Honda 2000 without removing the entire red plastic case.

They have kits for most gensets, I've seen Hondas with them installed, but never done one. I'm sure an email to the company with a question would get you some solid answers.

I checked into making my Honda eu2000 into a bi-fuel model, but you need two carburetors to do this, the kit to convert it drills out the carb if I am not mistaken. I just carry 2.5 gallons in my truck bed (I realize that you do not have that option) but I do not want to have to buy a carb or change mine for propane.

Quick update: I am in the process of building a bracket for the rear bumper of my Rockwood 2306, which will carry a 5-gal. Blitz jerry can. I should have it together this weekend, and I'll post a picture of the completed project.

Hi All.

For the cost of the Conversion Kit, it pays for a lot of Gas. Its not worth the cost or the trouble to me to do a Conversion. Besides, I like the way we have our Twin Honda EU2000i's set up just the way they are. ( Customized Tool Box, on rear of our 5er) We also use the Honda Extended Run tank all of the time also, which greatly increases the running time. Since I have a Coleman Mutlti-Fuel Lantern, and a Coleman Multi-Fuel Camp Stove, its not a problem for us to carry a can of gas with us. We also cary one extra 20lb Propane Tank, for the BBQ and our Mr Heater, and our Wave #6 Heater as well. We never use the RV Furance at all. So we can do extended says very easiely with out worring about how much Propane we have left. It works great for us this way. Good Luck. Happy Camping, Dan & Jill

dp,

Unless I missed something you don't have to change carbs. The mfg is just pointing out that the mod requires drilling the carb, ie, you can't covert it back to like new condition if you choose to do away with the kit.

I agree that this is an expensive mod. But, since I will be going with a single Yamaha 2400 (instead of 2 Honda 2000's) then I consider it a good deal. All of our camp gear is propane, so, having a single fuel is nice for me.

Dan,
"Its not worth the cost or the trouble to me to do a Conversion"

That might not be the case for others, I posted the idea as an option. Knowing the options lets you make the best choice for your needs.

I just put on an extend-a-stay and carry a twenty pound tank of propane that can feed the genset, RV and the various toys. I just throw it in the back of the towed and get it filled as needed.
