Quote: The response you received from Jayco does not surprise me in the least. I like our 35GS and plan to keep it for a long time... but our next motorhome will not be a Jayco. I wouldn't take another product from them if they tried to give it to me.
We are beginning to feel the same way.

They will not rub thru on the compartment door. That is to flat of a surface. They could easily rub thru as described earlier especially if they cut the cables a little too long.
Well I got my recall letter from Jayco today listed as a Transport Canada Recall Campaign number 08-166. Letter states defect exists in years 2005-2008 Seneca 35GS and 34SS models.
The fix is to relocate the battery cable from the front battery to the rear battery and to reposition the p-clamp so as not to allow the battery cable to be pinched between the battery and the slide tray. If this condition is not addressed; it may result in a fire, injury or death.
Well it caused a fire in mine and I'm still waiting for the fix.
You guys in the USA should be getting your recall letter soon.
I called to schedule the Seneca in to the dealer for all the recalls and was told they would have it for a minimum of two weeks. Supposedly, Jayco does not furnish any recall parts for them to keep on hand and they only receive the parts when the Seneca is brought to the dealer.
We have a 2006 Seneca 33GS and had a potentially serious problem, the exhaust melted the forward passenger side compartment bay on a trip to California. Could have been worse but thank God it wasn't. Jayco approved the fix and the Dealership is in the process of fixing it now but it makes me wonder if they approved it becuase they didn't want another fire related recall... Might want to keep an eye on it if you own a 33GS and I probably should report this problem to the NHTSA as well.
