It would be a good time for manufacturers to start making small lightweight trailers that can be pulled by small 4cyl cars. i doubt Teardrop styles would sell much as they are just too small but super light A-Liner type trailers may be just the thing.

The shift I've seen locally is towards smaller, lightweight, trailers that can be pulled with SUVs and half-ton trucks. They still have some of the larger units but most of them are for show and ordering purposes.

The problem is that many of us are now spoiled. Many years ago we came very close to buying a Boler that I would have pulled with the Volvo that we had then. We looked at it several times but decided it was going to be too cramped. I have no idea how my wife would react to downsizing now; I think I'd be camping alone !!

Thanks javaseuf but they are all in the 1400lb range which would not work for my Toyota Echo,i was thinking 500lbs. As i look at it its only a place to sleep comfortably, when i go camping i usually bring a large kitchen tent to hang around in as a trailer can get very hot during the day.

I'm in the midwest and have seen campers out on I70 since March. And just saw someone pull out of the local RV dealer towing a big Dream Suite 5er. They're will probably be a big divide where the bigger TT's and smaller, median priced 5ers will become less popular. And the big luxo models and smaller weekender TT's will be good to go.

I had to fill my truck 2 weeks ago. I was seeing a couple places bump their prices to $1.379 a liter but my local Canadian Tire was still $1.275. At $1.379, it was equivalent to $5.22 a gallon US. That's why I use my 4-cylinder Dodge SX to run around town.

I used to tow a tent trailer behind my Gold Wing motorcycle. It had a hard-top and slept 3. It weighed less than 300 pounds.
There are a number of companies making lightweight PUPS in the 300# range. Check-out THIS web-site for lightweight trailers.
