Does anyone know of a forum dedicated to small travel trailers in general? I don't mean specific types like popups, teardrops, etc, but a forum about camping with small travel trailers?
I have participated for quite some time in the Casita Club Forums (there are two) and the Molded Fiberglass Forum. However, many of the folks who own this type of trailer tend to be narrowminded, cliquish, and contentious. The Casita folks look down their collective noses at any trailer that isn't specifically a Casita. The fiberglass folks make disparaging comments about "stickies" and "slabslided" fiberglass trailers. So I am looking for a new forum that is a bit more openminded and has a place for someone with any old small trailer. I think there are enough issues that are particular to small ones that there is reason for such a forum.
For that matter, I wonder why there isn't a subforum here on the subject? I do read the popup one and the hybrid one for ideas, but many of their issues are of no interest to me---though I do pick up lots of tips in spite of this.
Thanks.

That seems like a reasonable request. If there is enough demand a sub catagory might be added. It seems like the interest in smaller units is growing as the fuel prices go up and more people are looking to own a more fuel efficient TV with less towing capacity as a result.
It will be interesting to see how many posts this string attracts.

Would be nice to have a category for these smaller units as Art suggested.

I don't think we need another subcategory. You'll find plenty of us with small trailers here. We can always PM each other for specific issues or questions. I will welcome any and all, for example. But if we get our own forum, I'd be a willing participant.
We've had our 2000 19' Aerolite for eight years now and it has suited us very well. Every time we think of selling it and getting another MH we remind ourselves how convenient our little TT is, how big our bathroom and how much storage space we have. And now--most of all!--we are reminded of our great gas mileage towing it with our 6-cylinder Blazer!

". . .narrowminded, cliquish, and contentious"? Ooooh, certainly none of that around here! Unless of course your generator isn't red or blue . . .
Art, I own a small, old trailer and I think I know what you're saying. For me, at least, the TT is the kitchen, bath and bedroom (all in one room), while the great outdoors is my living room. A lot of the issues having to do with 34-foot triple-slide palaces have no bearing on my beat-up old aluminum tent. And all these happy people posting pictures of their spaceous, gorgeous new TT's--AAARGH!!!!
But I think you'll find plenty of discussions on the TT and Boondocking forum that will head dead-on. Er, less on the Boodocking forum, it's haunted by a Troll. But give it a try, and offer some of your own experiences. I myself am always looking for new recipes for making soup out of dandelions and old laundry . . .

When we had our Trillium, we found a fiberglass RV website that was most helpful. We even drove to a meet they were having and they were very welcoming and loved showing us the inside of their little palaces. I'm not sure if you were at the same website but I will PM you with the one I am talking about.

Ditto. I agree. It would be a nice addition for us that have the smaller variety of trailers.
