Well, now---don't put words in my mouth here, Skipnchar! I am not throwing stones at folks with bigger trailers. But small units have problems that are particular to them. For instance, I don't have a grey water tank, but use an external one. So this brings up the question of just where to dispose of it. Many parks do not give specific instructions---and in some it is pretty hard to take care of. Most bigger trailers wouldn't have this problem. Just one example of a topic that is peculiar to us smaller guys.
Also, I have no intention to offend molded fiberglass owners in general. I know several personally and get along fine with them. One Casita owner is local to my area and has been of tremendous help to me. He (Jay Herb) posts on this forum a lot and is very friendly and knowledgable about trailering in general. But even the moderators on the fiberglass forums are often downright antagonistic to nonfiber trailer owners and their questions.
So---I guess I think it would be nice to be able to participate on a forum that isn't quite so exclusive.

I agree. But I also think you should spend time in the boondocking, hybrid, and PUP forums. I would bet that utilizing those would help you find answers to all the information you need.
And by the way....I have one of those 30+ foot "stickies" and I don't even tow mine, but I am always happy to help when I can.

Interesting idea... but how does one define 'small'?? Someone with a 35 footer might feel 'small' is anything up to 25'. Someone with a 25 footer might think 'small' is anything 16' and less.
Or maybe the dividing line would be based on number of axles?

Well, SoCal,
You have a great point there. I'm pretty sure mine is small (fourteen foot stem-to-stern, 10 foot box), but in between might be vague. But---in a spirit of nonexclusion and friendleness---why not define it to be whatever size a participant THINKS is small? I'm not trying to be funny here, it's just that I have about had my fill of forums where folks set up arbitrary rules about picayune things. As several folks have pointed out here already, we're all in this together---and wind up the same place eventually!
But I still think it would be nice to be able to post a question specifically related to my small rig on a forum and feel that in all probability someone else with a little rig will see it.

I think that size all depends on the need you have for the trailer. I have a 27 footer for my young family. It is the wife and I with our four children. The layout of our trailer is the front is our bed with a curtain for the door. Then in the small slide out is the couch bed and the small kitchen. On the other side from that is the dinet and the fridge. Then you come to the set of bunks on the one side and the bathroom on the other. So to us this is Bed,kitchen (that we do not use much),and bathroom. So to us this is a small trailer for our group.
I would love to see a spot to see the small trailers. They are by far my favorite trailers around. When our kids are grown and gone we will by a small trailer for us.
2002 R-vision trail lite. Love it.
1999 dodge 4x4 deisle. Have loved it from the day it rolled off the lot. now at 250k

Jtwisconscin,
I do haunt the hybrid and pup forums. But I don't usually identify with problems relating to how to repack things so that one can fold up the camper, and don't have problems with what to do when the canvas gets wet. They are interesting forums, and I learn a lot when I check them out. But they don't quite satisfy my need---which is a forum that addresses problems encountered by folks with small hard-sided trailers.
And whether or not you tow your 30 footer, the choice as to whether it is a little rig or a big rig should be up to you.

We own a 13' Sun Valley Road Runner. We are usually the smallest hardside trailer in the campground, unless there is a Scamp around (we're taller and wider than a 13' Scamp).
I'm not sure there are that many differences between "big" and "small" trailers/campers. For example, I'm always interested in the reading about the mods, the packing tips, the generator questions ... etc. In my opinion, these are the same issues regardless of the size of your trailer! Still and all, if there were a small trailer subgroup, I'm sure I'd visit!
I also wondered how to define small. A 19' trailer would seem like a mansion to us, but is considered small by most other campers! C'est la vie!

I would love to participate in a forum just for small, maybe single axel trailers!! YES YES YES!! The molded fiberglass people are great but they cater to a very specific kind of trailer, it would be nice to have a forum that included all the little ones.

What size would constitute small - give me a range...
Give me a show of hands (post) of those of you with trailers that fit this catagory and would want a sub-catagory... If there is enough interest, I'll approach the Administrators/programmers...
PLEASE - only those who really own these trailers - no ghost voting...
