I agree, I'd like a forum for small trailers! We have an 18 ft. Eco. We just downsized from a 30 ft. fifth wheel with two slides. We were tired of big and needed to downsize. Anyway, we are learning to live in limited space. I too, lurk on the casita and fiberglass forums and also on here and have learned a lot. However, a forum dedicated to small TT's would be much appreciated!

As mentioned in my previous message, we have an 18 footer! I think that qualifies as small.

I don't think your gray water question was answered, so I will answer it for you. You would empty your portable gray/black toteable tank at the dump station.... Just like the big rigs pull over there, you would take your external tank (I think that's what you called it) there. Easy breezy!
I agree, that you may have issues that some larger trailers don't have. But I think you will find, that most people here are willing to at least take a crack at helping you find an answer. Good Luck! Bella

Give me a show of hands (post) of those of you with trailers that fit this catagory and would want a sub-catagory... If there is enough interest, I'll approach the Administrators/programmers...
PLEASE - only those who really own these trailers - no ghost voting...

How about by weight, say 3000#?

I think that having a small trailer area is good, because in most cases we pack lighter and with the things that we really need.
A lot of people that tow a small trailer do so with a small vehicle and don't have room for extras. In my case I tow my 17' Casita with a Dakota PU , 5.2 L V8 and have room for extras.
Even though I have a fiberglass trailer I enjoy this site and have learned a few things and hope that I have helped some of the people here too.
I vote for the small trailer up too and including 20'

Most of the issues apply to both large and small. I hate to splinter the questions and responses into 2 places to look.

I mean, of the few RV's my dad owned growing up two of them were small; like 16 or 17 feet. He now has an 18 foot and I own a 23 foot. Other than variations in floorplans and amnmenities a trailer is a trailer.
Honestly, I don't really understand just how much exclusivity there is in TT's under some arbitrary length. Any modern trailer has furniture, tanks, electricity, appliances, etc. While it's true that OP's smaller rig may have a few unique issues like the lack of a grey tank, does that really warrant another category? It really doesn't matter to me one way or the other, I guess. But, it does seem a bit dubious. Just my two cents; and worth every penny.

There are lots of questions and comments that pertain to small trailers, to me it's like comparing apples and....well.... cherries :-) The camping experience is different in a small trailer. I find that most of the discussions on the trailer forum aren't relevant to me and I get tired of sifting through them for something that is....so i would love to see a site where most of the discussion fits for me. I also feel - right or wrong - that the general flavor in the trailer forum is pro big. Not that people aren't nice to the little guy, just that the general encouragement is towards bigger.
Single Axel is how I would separate the smalls from the bigs. I think single axel would take care of length and weight...
