I can say it is odd that your 250 PS was stolen as its not a common vehicle unless...

Not true from what I understand. Up to and including 2007, the F-series were the only truck without a factory imobilizer of some sort, which makes these trucks the easiest, and therefore, the most common truck to steal.

I would also have my doubts about a rental company allowing their truck to be used as a TV.

Sorry to here about your truck going missing. I had a car stolen and burnt once, and it is not a good feeling to think that someone violated your property like that. Hope you find a replacement soon.

I had a Ravelco anti-theft device installed on mine. Unless they have a tow truck, it ain't moving.

Bummer! That would ruin your whole day!

If your ins co can't settle quick enough and will agree to a rental. Check commercial and industrial rental places. Here you can even rent them with brake controller installed. They're more expensive and you have to prove inssurance but you can get one.

U will probably find the truck, minus the diesel, exhaust and any copper. That is where the money is.

I agree with Bigburd. And you're going to see ALOT more of this happening. Keep your vehicles locked, in sight, and if you can install a camera to keep an "eye" on it. Times are a getting worse people, not better.

Safe trails.

i don't think it will be settled before the trip..therefore the trip may be cancelled. the ins company is notified and an adjuster will contact me soon.

possible senarios are:

1: truck found and nothing is wrong (no damage and not likely)

2: truck not found or totaled and insurance pays it.

3: truck found but can be "fixed"

my worst fear is #3. i think i will trade it in if that is the case.

other than that, if you guys had a second chance of a tow vehicle, what would you get to pull a 08 Jayco 27BH G2? the dry weight is 5000 pounds.

The Ford Superduty door locks suck, I would consider it a major design flaw, everyone I know here in Houston including myself has had their's broken in to. A simple screwdriver in the lock gets the crook inside the truck in less than 2 seconds. (Yes I know, if they want in bad enough they will get in)

Second of all, I don't know how close you are to the Mexican border there in Ca. so I don't know if you guys have this problem. Here in Texas A LOT of F250-350 trucks get stolen, especially the 4-door models. They steal the truck, gut the interior and haul as many illegals out of Mexico as they can.

**EDIT** Upon recomendation by a previous post in this thread I went to the Ravelco website. LOL, they have an article from our Houston paper about the thefts of Superduties.

Friend had his 3500 DuraMax stolen in Canada 2-3 years ago.
Talk about a head ache..
He had a trailer parked in a Canadian campground with his passports and dog papers in the stolen truck..
He got all back into states and now has a 2500 Duramax to tow with..
Took him 3-5 days to get everything back into USA..
