My children are cooking Brunch for me for Mother's Day, but I need something that's portable that I can contribute as well since they're Mom's as well! Any ideas? (Someone's already bringing the fresh fruit basket)

How about brownies or cupcakes (for a change from cake).

What lines were you thinking along -- a baked item like scones? A side dish like fruit salad? Something bigger like an egg dish?

An appetizer? How about deviled eggs? My family goes crazy for them!

Ham roll-ups -- Buddig Ham & cream cheese rolled up into a "log". We love those, too!

Spinach Dip

This recipe is absolutely the BEST spinach dip recipe you will ever find! You'll never be happy with "deli counter" spinach dip again!

2 pkgs. Frozen chopped spinach (softened and drained)
1 pint sour cream
1-1/2 boxes Knorr Veggie soup mix (add dry)
1/2 qt (small jar) REAL mayonnaise
2 cups (cans) water chestnuts, chopped
1/2 bunch green onions, chopped fine

Mix all ingredients together and let sit for at least three hours prior to serving. Serve with potato chips, rye crackers, raw fresh veggies, etc.

To make it look pretty, you can buy a round loaf of bread and hollow it out for the serving "bowl" You can either save the bread you took out for bread crumbs, feed it to the chickens (oops, that's just me ) or you can dip the bread into the spinach dip!

I LOVE that spinach dip recipe. I make it every Thanksgiving as an appetizer to take to my Mom's place. If I try and make something different everyone pouts, so even if I try something new I have to bring the spinach dip too! YUM!

Yes, thanks for the reminder about a favorite of mine that I haven't made for a LONG time!!!

Also, I never think of bringing festive plates & cups - that's a great idea too!

My Mother loved that Spinach dip, she would finish it off, every time. I sure miss her.

Happy Mother's Day, everyone.
