After dewinterizing, I ran my water pump for awhile, and it worked fine. I then hooked up to city water, and finished cleaning everything out.
When I refilled the water tank, unhooked the city water; the pump now constantly runs, but no water is being pumped. Even the hot water will not pump. I'm not even getting any air through the pipes.
How do I get the pump to prime, if that is what the problem is.
THANK YOU in advance!

It sounds like you might have a "selector valve" in the wrong position.
I have a valve that allows filling the tanks via the city water connection. If that is in the "fill" position, the pump will not pressurize the system.
Good luck !

Humm. This sounds familiar. Three possibilities:
1. You've got a MAJOR leak downstream of the pump. If it were that bad, you'd probably see lots of water spreading. I assume this is not the case.
2. Water flow to the pump from the tank side is blocked. Check to make sure that water is making it as far as the pump by unscrewing the connection on the tank side and seeing that water is flowing. If it is now, check upstream.
3. This one is the hardest one: Water is making it to the pump from the tank (i.e., no blockage), but you have a small leak in the piping on that side. (This is what we confronted on our rig.) The leak can be so small that it'll hardly even leak water, but even a leak that small will, under vacuum from the pump, allow enough air to enter pipe so as to cause the pump not to start pulling water from the tank. The leak will almost surely be at some connection or another along the line.

Good luck with it!

Did you hook up the city water, and open the tank fill valve to fill your fresh water tank? If so,after you disconnected the "City" water hose, did you shut off the tank fill valve? If not the pump will try to refill the fresh water tank and will run all the time. Close the valve and then try again. Open the Hot water faucet and it will take a little time to fill the water heater and when the water flows steady out of the hot water faucet, the water heater should be full and turn off all faucets and the pump should turn itself off.

Try working the valve for your wintering hose back and forth. Open the valve and let the pump suck some air and then close it while the pump is still running and it should break your vapor lock. I would try this before dismantling anything. I had the same issue last year and that was what worked for me. Good Luck!

Are you by chance pumping any water out the city water connection? Did you leave the water tank bypass (used to put antifreeze in the water lines) open instead of closed? Are you sure there is water IN the fresh water tank?

Locate your water-pump. Check the strainer on the inlet side to make sure it is not plugged from any scale in the filter. They can be openned and cleaned. The inlet water line could be disconnected at this location to squirt some water into pump. The pump could need replacement if it is old. Pump-heads can be separately from whole unit, along with new strainers. It wouldn't hurt to remove and clean the strainers on each sink faucet. If they are blocked, they can contribute to getting lines primed with water. Normally these pumps are self priming and will work fine. Also confirm that you have water in your holding tank.

Try this: Fill your fresh water tank, turn on pump, while pump is running open fresh water tank drain and let water drain for about 10-15 seconds. Don't ask me how or why this works, but it is what we have to do to ours every time we refill the tank!!??
