Well, it happened this way. I've been searching for the right B for awhile now, but nearing my second retirement in a month or so, have been looking a little harder. I've been following EBAY, both sold and not sold prices, and a few RV search web sites. I recently checked again www.nada.com to see what they claim are average selling prices. So I thought I had a reasonably good idea of what a respectable good price would be for a 04, 05, 06 Roadtrek 190P would be. Although I thought the 06 would be a lucky find and a little stretch for us.

I saw an 06 RT 190P advertised at a dealer reasonably close and ignored it for several weeks thinking, no way they would come down to a price I would consider. Finally, today I mentioned it to DW and we went to look at it. I called a young sales lady we had talked with a few times looking at their Roadtreks and she said they had a sale on. To my great surprise DW thought it looked almost new and liked it well enough. That is in spite of the brand new Agile sitting right next to it which is her favorite. I was surprised again when told the sale price was very close to what I thought would have been a good offer.
I then gave her a out the door figure with all Maryland taxes paid and all paper work done which pushed her down another $1000. She said "if I can get that will you give me a check". DW said "yes", with out even asking me. I agreed subject to a test drive and a little more looking.
Awhile later she came back and said "lets go for that drive".

Then while writing a deposit check a couple of more surprises. First it's an 06 Roadtrek on an 05 Chevy chassis. May be that's ok, maybe the price should be a little lower, I falter but keep going. Then I was told the Roadtrek warranty could be transfered but not the Chevy warranty. Can that be true, there was one previous owner. They said if the Chevy warranty can be transfered they did not know how.

Does anyone know if or how the Chevrolet warranty can be transfered?

I need to find out but can't think right now. I'm kind of breathless, the only time I ever spent more money was when I bought our house 27 years ago. May be I'll figure out who to call tomorrow.

The last I heard you couldn't "transfer" warranties because the warranty existed with the car. You take it to GM, run the VIN, and it tells them the in service date. They don't care who the owner is.

You probably should get some kind of documentation that shows when the RV was first sold. Otherwise GM's computer might think the in-service date is when they dropped off the bare van at Roadtrek. In theory the original selling dealer is supposed to update GM when the RV is sold. I've heard it doesn't always happen. Roadtrek, the original selling dealer, or the original owner should all be able to give you some kind of paperwork that indicates the sale date. Roadtrek tracks it so they know how long the RV is under their warranty.

Based on my '02 Chevy RT, you may find a letter from GM in the documents that came with the van, indicating the delayed start-of-warranty date. This would be the date it was first sold to a retail customer. But your local Chevy dealer should have this info in their computer, too.

Congratulations, and many happy motoring miles!

Provide Roadtrek the VIN number, and they can and will quickly provide you with the date the Roadtrek was sold, placed in service date.

Thanks Guys!

I appreciate the feedback. I will check on the service date and warranty info as per your suggestions. Very helpful to me at this point.

I think this vehicle is a good match for us, but I guess you would have a hard time getting everything just as you want in a used vehicle. One small thing bothering me is that I wanted a third seat up front but this one has the small closet behind the passenger seat. DW thinks that is OK and maybe an advantage, so guess I'll live with it.

You will find the closet handy for storing your clothes and other stuff. If you really want the third seat, one can probably be ordered from RT, or possibly an RT owner might trade with you. Sounds like you have purchased a real good unit and are ready to take her on the road to enjoy.

I believe it's correct that you purchased an '06 with and '05 chassis.

At least, my Agile is an '07 with an '06 chassis.
