Could someone tell me the price of diesel fuel in Dawson Creek. I was told this is the place to fill as the cost goes up as you travel toward Ak.
Thanks
Geno

What difference does it make??? If you are going to Alaska, you'll pay what ever it takes. It's not like you have a lot of choices on the Alaska Highway. Fill up when ever you get a chance.

Actually, along the Alaska Highway the prices vary greatly. Some rustic lodges charge less than full-service gas stations in larger centres, likely to cater to locals and draw the truckers in. For years the cheapest place on the Alaska Highway was Morley River ... unfortunately it's now closed. Last year, our cheapest diesel was at Ross River in central-Yukon. Beat out most places on the Highway.

We usually DON'T fuel up in the larger centres, instead waiting for the smaller gas stations along the road where prices are usually a few cents cheaper. Also, it helps keep the little guy in business and we've met some of the nicest people that way.

Sorry I ask. I just wanted to know about Dawson Creek. I can fill there and make it to Ak. I herd the little guy could have water and to stay with the major truck stops. Buy others from the little guy.

We're in Dawson Creek and I saw $1.329 and $1.349/liter for diesel today.

not too much difference from our home prices in Ontario. Local station was $1.308 yesterday..that hurts. put in 75 liters, it was almost 100.00-wow..and we get 16 mpg..Dona

If you're coming through Alberta (rather than up the Hart Highway), filling at the FastGas just before you cross into BC (20 miles or so from Dawson Creek) will save you over 50 cents a gallon on your diesel.

I've been filling up at the little guys along the Alaska Highway for 20+ years and have never had a fuel problem.

THE place to avoid on the Alaska is Junction 37 - a total gouge, even worse than Watson Lake.
