Went to pull TT out of storage today. Checked propane bottles and found one empty. Took it to get filled. On the way out of fill location, I noticed a clicking noise coming from TV rear tire. Got out and found a bright shiny screw stuck in my tire (this is fourth time in a row, that TV picks up a nail or screw in a tire while getting ready to go camping). Have 25K miles on TV and only the spare is still a virgin.
OK. Done venting. TT is in the driveway, loaded, and ready to go in the morning. Just have to stop at tire place and re-torque one wheel.

What we do, is after each trip, I take in one or both tanks if I switched them over, and get them topped off, so I never have to worry about how much Propne I have in our Tanks. Once you get use to this, you will always start each trip, with your Propne Tanks always filled and ready to go. We are lucky, as we have a Covered RV Port at home, with Full Hook-Ups. So except for Fridge perishables, our 5er is always completely stocked, with both summer and winter clothes. All the Food Cabinets are always stock fully. Enought to last at least a couple of weeks, even if we don't fill the fride. I only need a 30 minute notice to be ready to hit the road. As we do use our 5er off and on all year long. The clothes that we use on a trip, is taken in, and washed, and put right back into the 5er. The way that we think of it, our 5er is our second home, so it is completely stock, with the same items that are in the house. All that my DW has to do, is grab her purse, and set the Alarm, and close the door, and get into the truck. Everything that she uses in her bathroom, I bought doubles, and it all stays in our 5er. So there is always everything that she needs, and doesn't ever have to worry if she forgot anything. It sure makes life a lot easier for us. But after 40+ years as RV'er, we have it all down pat. So there is never any planning, except where we want to go. Any where is fine by us, as long as we are together, and on the move with our 5er, we are happy as can be. Good Luck. I had the same problem the first time we ever went camping with our new trailer(also we were new to the RV world and never camp in a trailer before). The night before I worked the night shift 10PM to 6AM went to bed at 730AM got up at 11AM to go take delivery of our new camper. Everything was going wrong that day and we were already 1 hour late when I went to get in the TV and the rear driver side was sitting kind of low. Checked the tire and it had less than 15 lbs of air in it. Had the wife pull forward it until I found the screw in it. Removed the screw and plugged it while the tire was still on the TV. Then drove 45 minutes, get the trailer do the paperwork and walk through then drive 3 hours up into PA and camp. Got there at 9:30PM. Got lots of help from other campers parking and setting up. By the way that was the 4th time I fixed a tire with out taking it off the vehicle(different SUV's over several years).

You see. The first trip out with said system installed on my rig, about 1/3 the trip, the alarm went off.. I aired up the tire, reset the alarm and completed the trip, adding air often during the trip.
When I got home I added air again, headed to my tire store where George (The Assistant Manager) told me I'd been Screwed.. So they removed the screw, put in a patch under the warranty agreement and I was good to go with a sealed tire again
Total cost.. A bit of gas for the generator to run the air pump and time and gas to the tire store
Another poster got the same system but was on the road when it arrived, he tossed it into a storage bin to install when he got home
FIFTEEN MILES out from the camp ground people are honking and pointing, He pulls over and in addition to the tire (Totalled) and Rim there is over 2,000 in damage to the front end of his towed.
Let's see, around 2100 in damage and tire and rim v/s 2.10 in gas.... Humm..
I think my system paid for itself
