I took my TT (Jayco Jayflight) to a local CampingWorld several days ago to get slide toppers installed. I go to pick it up and the hitch will not lock.
It seems someone tried to hook up to my TT instead of his own and ever so slightly bent the bottom of the hitch!
Apparently he was actually starting to drive out of the parking lot when one of the Techs saw him and chased him down.
Not only did he comment how he "thought it pulled harder than his" (mine is a heavier unit) but he didn't remember having the wheel locks (which I have) and he had in the floor of his truck.
Needless to say, I told CW to make it right and give me a call when it is done.
I was surprised that CW did not have a ticket fixed to the hitch on the TT or walk me out to my unit. After paying for the work, they simply pointed to the side of the building and handed me my keys.
Hopefully this is a freak occurance but I am curious if it has happened to others...both someone trying to drive away with your rig by mistake and having a bent hitch!

I think the guy was lying to you............How could you mistake one rig for another. Especially if one has wheel locks and one doesn't. Its lucky you an alert tech there.

I have to agree here. Come on don't tell me you don't know what your own TT looks like. I understand that there were many of those models made, but thats like mistaking your neighbors yellow lab, for yours.

Sounds like a fishy story to me. Mainly because the story doesn't explain a bent hitch! I bet one of the yard guys bent it while moving it and that's the story he told his boss.

Had similar experience with a dealer with my 5er. Went to pick it up and after several attempts could not get the jaws on my hitch to close around the pin. After looking at the pin box, the pin was actually bent, now how would one accomplish that. My call is the yard guy with the yard mover did something wrong but it would have been a huge stress on the pin box. Went into the dealer and spoke with the owner. He took one look and called out a tech to replace the entire pin box.
I agree with the other poster. I think the yard guy messed up and is making up the story.

I know I made that mistake once of pulling my own TT without taking off the wheel chocks and all it did is pop the wheel chocks out from between the tires and bent them up to the point of having to replace them. There was no damage to tot he pin box at all. I smell a dead rotten fish here.

I suppose his keys fit the storage compartment too, and when he went in there, he didnt notice his hitch was different maybe? I put my bets on the yard guy...
