I know this seems hard to believe but this is the average mileage currenly showing on my display averaged over about the last 1200 miles. This is mileage around town on business and back and forth to my office. I am driving it carefully and have Ricksons and a manual transmission, but this mileage is better than my wifes car and much better than I ever expected to achieve with this truck. I currently have 67K miles on the truck. On my last camping trip my average was 13.4 mpg loaded .
I had heard the mileage would improve as the engine breaks in . When new I was getting 13.5 .. then slowly up to my goal of 17.5 and now much better. I assume this mileage is due to learning how to drive it for the best results as well as engine break in. One other factor is that the tires are 3%-6% oversized so there is an argument that I could be getting even better mileage than the reading indicates.
Anybody else with one of these 5.9 Dodge DRW trucks getting similar results?

Wow, that's fantastic...20.7 mpg around town. I think Dodge is on to something here or else your town has lots of hills and you are only going down them.
Honestly, you should write a book so the rest of us (especially me) can learn your secrets.

I have achieved similar results over shorter distances with my 2005 5.9 DRW. This winter I hit a snow /ice storm that forced me to slow down to around 50 mph for a 100 mile stretch, and despite being in 4WD the whole time I averaged 22.7 mpg. On a 5000 mile trip through western Canada and USA (with camper) I averaged 15.8 mpg calculated, with a high between fill ups of 18.2 mpg and a low of 8.6 mpg.

My 2003 3500 dually 4x2 regularly returns 19-20 Imperial mpg and on road trips at 1700 rpm gets 26.5 imperial mpg. This truck weighs 7500 lbs. This is better than our Jeep Cherokee. We are vey impressed with the 5.9 Cummins/auto combination. We towed a car on a tandem flat deck U haul last summer a distance of 1200 miles. Grossed scale weight was 14,300 lbs ( 6500 kg). Truck returned 20.5 imperial ( 17 USMPG). Set cruise at 1700-1750 rpm and it never budged. By driving no faster than 98 kmh ( 61.25 mph) or perhaps even slower by times I had a relaxing trip, was not holding anyone up and the truck returned the favour of excellent fuel economy. Your driving habits will tell the story at the pumps.

We usually only use the truck with the camper on, so 13 to 15 US MPG
But we only have 18000 miles on it

Far Roamer hit it on the head. For every 5 mph you reduce your speed, down to about 50 mph, you can improve you fuel mileage by about 10%.

If you have the time could you come to Ohio. I have a tow bar.. Maybe you could pull my F350 around for a while so I could save some fuel too.. The only way I'd get 20+MPG is falling off a cliff..
I really wanted the Dodge dually shortbed but I just couldn't get past the flairs they call fenders.. I sure made a mistake..

I have gotten as much as 21.5 mpg, but mostly it averages around 19 mpg. With the camper it is 13.5 - 14 mpg.

I have seen 20.5 on the overhead for the first 100 miles after fill up also but haven't been able to do that on the over head after that no matter how hard I try also my over head DOES NOT agree with my hand calculator.
