Years ago (long before Rush's idea) I thought the best way to defeat the Sierra Club was for all off roaders to join and then run it our way.

You know I do believe that we do need land set aside as preserves and we have that already.
Now I'm a pretty old guy and what amazes me is that enviros continually come up with endangered species that I've never heard of OR seen in my life. Honestly I have to say that if I've lived this long without ever having seen nor heard of some obscure bug or plant I'm having a hard time with someone closing thousands of acres because of it.
I truly believe that with some of the vocal enviro wackos it's not about the plant or bug at all, but rather the thrill of the fight and imposing their will on others if they win. I also believe the masses that follow them like blind sheep and donate money have no clue what is REALLY going on. Getting folks to donate money to "save the enviornment" is wrong when the real agenda is to keep people out of the "enviornment".

A note to the enviros .. I live here too and I think I'm more important than a bug

Hungry valley is near the property but not in it. Its an SVRA like Oceano so its state owned.

I can't say I support the Sierra Club or its values. The original founders had some good intentions, but as you know, people tend to get too big headed for thier own good. There's enough land out there for pretty much everyone to be able to use it in various ways, including off roading. But I do have to say that they had a lot to do with the establishment and support of our national park system. If they had the power and backing in the 20s that they do today, the Hetch Hetchy Vally would never have become a reservoir. Thats one time I think they were entirely right. Thought a restoration seems a bit over the top today, and doesn't really make a lot of sense.

To get a feel for the politics and shenegans around envronmentalist causes, a good read is "State of Fear" by Michael Chrichton

That book is awesome. It does really open your eyes. It is fiction, but you need to look at his references in the back. Pretty scary stuff.

It's ALL about the money! A quick search on some of the "vocal" wackos you speak of will show they have never earned a paycheck from a honest days work in their life. Quite a sham really and the sheep hand over their cash to feel good.

The ESA, endangered species act, is the weapon of choice...

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!

It is about money but it is also about control.

They want to show you then can submit you. No different than being in jail.

Once they get an inch they will never let up.

When the greenies come calling I just send my daughter after them....
