First off read your service manual you got with the unit ,it will instruct how to manually operate the slide if needed. Then talk to Jayco. I was asked that by a dealer once and told him in Fla when we lived there! Never did live there but got it fixed!!!They couldn't hold it against us for moving near them!!

I wouldn't blame the dealer for putting his customers first... if I was his customer and he didn't take care of mine because he had to work on one that was bought from a discounter, he may lose me as a customer to...

I just don't get how someone buys from a discounter expects to be treated as though he bought there locally...

you made a business decision, to save the money up front, and think there is no cost for it...

I am sorry you are having trouble, but fill the tank and take it to RV direct where it belongs for repairs... I would bet RV direct isn't doing much warranty work for ones bought some where else either...

Local dealers aren't any better.

Unfortunately you've found out that RV dealers typically don't service the units they don't sell and if they do, those get dropped to the bottom of the priority list. Nature of the RV business - doesn't mean it's right, but it does mean you need to work around this issue to get your trailer fixed. This is the reason we paid a bit more and bought it from a local dealer as opposed to a discounter.

The cracking/splitting linoleum isn't limited to just Jayco or your trailer model. Seems the extreme cold caused a lot of linoleum floors in a lot of trailers to crack. There have been a few threads on here of the same problem all with different brand trailers. This problem seems to be an "equal opportunity" issue.

Re: your slide. There should be a manual way to get it in. Once you've got the slide in (check your owners manual or call Jayco for help) you need to get it to the repair shop. Now...typically you bought from RVDirect so you probably should take it back there. Your other option is to call Jayco and ask where you can take it for repairs and have them contact that place on your behalf if they will do so. This way the place KNOWS your coming and that Jayco authorized it even though you didn't buy your trailer through them.

Hope your issues get resolved soon!

You should have checked who would take care of warranty work before you purchased it.
This happens alot, people never check if they can get warranty work done at what dealer, some buyers just won't say it happened to them. The dealer didn't say no but their customers come first.

I believe that finding a good dealer is hit or miss. I have a great dealer her in PA. Media Camping Center in Fairless Hills. If you are in the market for an RV and you are close they are the best. They stand by their products, are very nice people and are very competitive in price. What more could you ask for. The manager is a normal guy that is as nice as the rest of his staff. What a pleasure. They are like family.

Jayco is one of the few RV companies that will authorize repairs at your favorite or convenient repair facility. Contact a local shop that is willing to repair it, then give Jayco a call to get their approval. This includes another Jayco dealership! Have you tryed to hand crank it back in?

I question why the person who posted has not posted a further response??

I am sure not all RV repair firms are that booked up that they can't do repairs. Money is money; hell I have even paid the cost of repairs out of my pocket and be reimbursed by manufacturer to get my boat done.

I would suggest find a shop that is not too busy, get the an estimate of repairs, agree with shop and jayco that you are paying for the repairs and jayco to reimburse you. That way shop is not caught waiting on jayco for the money. I bet the repairs will not take so long.

This is based on if this is a true legit post or ??????

Try calling the people and number listed below. Hope this helps. Get a hold of the Jayco Warranty Rep., ask to have the unit returned to Jayco for factory evaluation or to another Jayco dealer for repair. The CEO of Jayco is Wilbur Bontrager. Try calling him if this is not being done as you requested. Wilbur Bontrager Chairman and CEO Bertha Bontrager Rhodes Chairperson Emeritus Derald Bontrager President and COO Jayco 903 S. If you have to pay for repairs if less than $2000 you are ahead.Owners manual may have instructions for manual operation of slide but mine did not. dealer did not know called trail cruiser they weren't sure they emailed installation manual.if I was saving 2000 I would do the same thing you did.
