Not sure if this is the right forum area....but

20/20 had a bit on tires --- and how certain stores are selling them when they 12+- years old!!! Here's a link if you missed it...20/20 It might explain why some of you have had blown tires when you haven't overloaded your rigs.

People are simply not wearing out their tires as much, they're driving fewer and fewer miles. At least that's the case with me.
They want us to keep replacing our tires, as if they were worn out. I've been treating all my tires with Aerospace Protectant 303, and shielding them from the sun as much as possible. But, it's risky business running your own independent studies. Replacing your tires every 7 years offers peace of mind.

Yep, you have to watch out for this kind of stuff I guess. This tire was 10-11 years old and it blew just sitting on the spare tire rack one day. Zero tread-wear, treated with protectant on a semi regular basis, no signs of cracking, kept covered from the sun etc.

I've had Michelin's blow out like that & tear out the wheel well too.........

I bought my first motorhome in 1975. I always had Good Sam ERS. I always use to buy Michelin tires. Then In 8 years i had 3 Michelin Tire BlowOuts on the Interstate on my class C American Clipper MH. Then 4 years later i even had the spare mounted under the motorhome blow while parked.............Whats with THAT ???

Nowdays i've been hearing Deaths are caused driving Passenger Cars with older tires ( like New Tread ) exploding.............

I recently called one of my vendors to purify some of my overage tire inventory. He came in and offered me 50 cents on the dollar on some, and advised that I DRILL A HOLE IN THE REST OF THEM AND DISCARD THEM AS JUNK. I guess he knows what he is doing, as he was checking the date codes on them. I will call him tomorrow and thank him for being a honest and knowledgeable business person.
