Found out today, to my dismay, that my stimulus check will not be direct deposited on May 16th as orig. scheduled. Seems that users of TurboTax, H&R Block, etc. that e-filed and had their fees deducted from their return, (Santa Barbara Bank & Trust) will not get a direct deposit, but a paper check instead.
I'm scheduled for July 11th now. Aw, phooey!
I still plan to use some of the $$ for camping!
Here's a link to Turboax's info page. I still love T-Tax, and will continue to use it!

Got mine last week.

Don't know why anyone would want to have their TurboTax fees deducted from their return. It costs about double what it does to pay by credit/debit card after the "processing fees".

Thanks for posting this, I didn't understand why I had not received my money via direct deposit. I've been using Turbo Tax since 2000 and really like it.

Good Question Mousefart... I guess my answer is that back when I first started using Turbo Tax I must have done it that way for some reason and have just kept doing it that way. Sometimes I do that, I just keep doing what I know works but hopefully I'll remember your post next year.

Thanks,
Eric

We had our tax accountant do the 2007 taxes for us, as we sold the house and did a ton of other different things before full timing. Because we did not do direct deposit on the taxes, now we have to wait for the stimulus check to arrive. At this rate, it is just going into savings anyway, so I'm not really waiting for it.

If you put it in savings, you are doing the same thing we're doing, but we're not following the rules!

To be an "economic stimulus" it has to be spent.

So go shopping!

I keep telling my DW the same thing, but she says no.

We can spend it all for made in Asia products so that they can buy more oil and raise our fuel prices more.

We paid our fees up front. Our deposit came in on the 5th....was spent by the evening of the 6th. A post on a construction site scraped the bed of my new truck.....After a little negotiation with the dealer...$800. Then that night I was mowing the lawn and my hydrostatic transmission blew out. Much to my suprise is $400 for the replacement part. Ahhhhhh..... Amazing isn't it?

Don't feel bad about `saving' your Stimulus Payment because we've spent ours several times over...

How can you tell when you are suppose to receive the money? Is there a web site which gives the schedule of mail outs. I can't spend it or make any plans if I don't know when I will be getting it. Thanks...........
