I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. I have a Montana Mountaineer 307 RKD (rear kitchen). This morning I discovered that the carpet in the kitchen area is damp. The slides have been in since our last trip about 3 weeks ago. I checked under the cabinets for plumbing leaks, and the refrigerator also. All dry. The carpet that is wet is the carpet that is underneath the slideout when the slide is in. I checked the roof and did not see any problems there, and also checked under the slideout, which was also dry. I have no idea where the water came from. Does anyone have any suggestions at this point, before I take it back to the dealer, which I wanted to avoid if possible. Any info appreciated.

Is your unit sitting level? Even with the slides in, Rain can follow the slide channel and get in sometimes if not level.

Another thought, was it raining when you put your slides in 3 weeks ago?

How about plane old humidity? Do you run a dehumidifier when parked?

Sometimes those things are hard to track down. I had a poor seal around my fresh water intake. Any rain would run in there, down the piping, across the floor under the cabinets finally making it to the kitchen carpet. It appeared that the slide was leaking somewhere around the rear corner. That of course was not the case, but drove me crazy trying to find the culprit.

Our Montana 3400RL had a wet carpet problem as well. It turned out to be a leak in the hose that connects the water pump to the water pipe system. The leak was a slow drip on an exposed area of the OSB sub-floor in the basement area(behind a plastic panel). Over time the water was wicking along the sub-floor between the vinyl and OSB to the carpet well over ten feet away. The water was also collecting in the area below the sub-floor in the arctic package area. By the time we saw water in the carpet area a lot of damage was done to to the OSB and insulation in the arctic package. Thankfully the unit was still under warranty.

We had a similar problem and it was a bad slide gasket. Hopefully all better now, DH is picking the TT up from the dealer as we speak!

We have a 2008 Montana Mountaineer also. Same leak in kitchen by the refrigerator. Ours happened while driving in the rain. The dealer supposedly adjusted the the slide in, because it wasn't sealing right.

This would be my guess right now. If it rains tonight and the carpet is wet tomorrow, at least I will have an idea for the dealer to check.
Thanks for everyone's input.

We had the same problem with a Keystone Raptor and it turned out the slide needed to be adjusted. It would only leak with the slide in. In ours, the wet carpet caused the particle board moldings around the slide to swell. Keystone replaced under warranty.
