What's the best, strongest, most durable vacuum that requires the least amount of space in the RV and isn't so heavy I can't lift it or would require us to upgrade our tow vehicle ! Oh, yeah... and of course is economical. Thank you!

This sucks!!!
We have had one of these for a while. Made in USA (I know it's hard to believe!) Shop-Vac powerful, light weight, has a wall hanger, 3 year warranty, picks up dog hair off of carpet (that's the test of a good vac!) and God forbid if you ever have a leak or flood...but this will handle that too!

We have the central vacuum system in our fifth-wheel and it
works great. Recently we bought a dirt devil stick vac for
the tile floors in our house and it really has the suction
power. It would also be great for the rv.

Last year I bought a Stinger at Home Depot. Invested $20.
Turns out it's the best, lightest (8 lbs), smallest "shop vac" we've owned. DH doesn't want to give it up in his shop, so I'll buy another one for the fifth wheel now that I have some carpet that needs attention now and then.
My only complaint is the electrical cord is short, so will need an extension cord for it.

I just installed a Dirt Devil built-in that I picked up from RVUpgradeStore.com for about $100 less than CG wanted for the same unit. Installed very easily, takes up little room, and works very well.

I have the central vac, does a good job, except for the CAT hair..i use the cat slicker brush and that helps to loosen it from the carpet. Will need to take something else with us this coming winter..too old to crawl on hands and bad knees with the slicker brush.Dona

We have a central vac that we use most of the time. We also have a folding canister vac we got from walmart. We pull that out for deep cleaning.
The handle folds down and takes up very little room.
