We know this is a brand new company, but would love to hear some input from owners, if there are any of you who already have some experience with it. Looks great - and we've done some careful looking - but currently have an 04 HR Pres. and are trying to consider all substantial differences. The biggest positive factor is, of course, a LOT more space with the same weight! Thanks.

We visited a dealer south of Ocala, Fla. and we were very impressed. They have changed the mechanics for the slides and looks like they have new composite materials throughout. This has contributed to reduced weight.
Good introductory price. Some smart innovations such a three 25 lb propane tanks rather than two 30 lbers. RV Consumer group has not tested one yet according to their website. Check an earlier thread on this forum from three weeks ago for more info.

We purchased a 337RLS and have only towed it home at this point. Come Memorial Day weekend we will take it out for 4 days.
Some of the nice things I have seen so far are the ease of towing and no need to shift the hitch for manuvering in tight turns even with my short bed length.
The head room in the bed area is enough for me (6'-2" tall) all the way to the front.
Nice quantity and lots of room. Stocking next weekend and then pull out on May 23. I'll post again after our first time in two weeks.

We purchased an Open Range 385RLS and we think it's great. We went to 4 different RV shows and looked at all the models that the dealers in our state had to offer. None of the other models in our opinion came close to the aesthetics of this model.
We have only had our 5er for about 2 months and have taken it on 2 weekend trips and a week long trip about 500 miles from home. It tracked great. We have a 2008 GMC 2500 Diesel, and had a Sidewinder and 5th Airborne hitch installed. The Sidewinder really got us out of some tight spots, and would suggest one to anyone with a short bed truck. Also we would recommend the second air unit, which is already wired at the factory. We had only the one unit when purchased, the temperature got up to about 80 with no shade and the one unit just didn't cool the 385 sf this camper has.
We could go on and on about how much we like this camper, the jury is still out on the longevity of this manufacturer, it is a new company, but it was worth the gamble for us.

Thanks so much for your replies. Great input on what looks like a great 5th wheel! We are very impressed and very tempted, but will probably hold off a little longer just because ours really does meet our needs right now. (Those wants just get in the way!)

Had a response from RV Consumers Group. The Open Range is promoted as a 2009 model so they will test and rate these units in the fall. Hope the folks above will provide additional info when they have more time in their fivers.

We purchased a 337 RLS in April and have been living in it full-time for about a month now. We were total novices to this when we started, but both the dealer in Florida and Open Range have been very helpful and responsive to all our questions - and even made a few alternations to the unit before we picked it up. It has been quite easy to tow - we are novices to that too - and we've made it from southern Florida to the Ozarks no problem.
Our main motivation to buy an Open Ranges was the lower weight - it allowed us to still purchase a gas pickup. We also loved the very open DR/LR layout. Slides work like a charm so far. It has enough storage for our goods, and a nice little "office" niche off the DR.
We hope to run across someone else pulling an Open Range so we can compare stories.

We looked at one of these units an liked alot of what we saw. The head designer for the company has left his mark with every company that he has been with. KZ, Keystone and I think a couple of others. We are looking at going full time and really didn't consider them to be a"full timers unit".
