I am looking for a campgrounds near Ruiodoso or Cloudcroft, NM to stay. We used to stay a a real out of the way place called Chimney Springs, but they closed it. We need to be able to mix in tents and RV's, since the group we are planning will be both, actually mostly tents and my trailer. We are talking about 8-10 families (kids of all ages), so a group site would be great.
If you are planning on staying on the Lincoln National forest, it is all currently close due to high fire danger. The concessionaire run CG in the forest are still open, no open campfires or walking outside the CG area. You might check the Lincoln NF web site for more info All the private campgrounds in both Ruidoso and Cloudcroft are open. Pray for rain, very dry here.
If you are looking for a park that has some hook ups, out in the woods, cheap, and inbetween both towns (dont even know if it has a name it is so lonely up there)(approx 5 mil.es south of Cloudcroft on the west side of the road ), try that little park up the hill to Cloudcroft. It is pretty primitive up there and a couple of nice coots live there. Otherwise, Id stay at the Good Sam Park in town.
We like the Circle B RV park, maybe 2 miles East of Ruidoso. Think it is the best in that area. Spent many week-ends there before we retired. Since we retired and the fuel costs have gone up, we may spend many more week-ends there.

When we were in Ruidoso 2 yrs ago a new park was being built on the side of the hill near the Arrow Head Motel. We cannot find a name or anything about it. Can anyone help?
Thanks
I agree with imgoin4it, Circle B is a very nice convenient park. I don't think they have a pool which may be important. Owners are great and very helpful. The also can provide RV service and parts. I arranged for them to install a replacement motor on our door awning. Great park, we will be going again in September.
