The hazard lights flash and the headlights and running lights work. The turn signals do not work nor do the brake lights.

The hazard lights and brake lights are on the same fuse so, it could not be the fuse.

The US Tow Gear system shows one green LED and one red LED when I hook that up. The compressor runs endlessly and does not shut off unless I pull the umbilical cord.

If I pull the breakaway switch on the TOAD, with the US Gear setup, it does not actuate the brake pedal and the brake lights on the TOAD do not come on.

If I do not hook up the TOAD to the MH, and pull the breakaway switch, the brake pedal is activated and the brake lights come on on the TOAD.

It seems like a coach issue. Would this be a Ford issue? Or, would it be a Fleetwood issue? It seems like the main problem is coming from the chassis, since the brake lights do not work and that is what the US Gear system is counting on.

What are your thoughts?

The first thing to look for is the ground wiring, many problems are from faulty ground connections. Clean them and make sure the are clean and proper and from this point it will be a question on wiring or equipment.

Let us kmow !

just a guess but you could have two problems, I first check the brake pedal switch it could be loose,it may be not makeinf the switch for your brake lites. Next I check your turn signal lites if one is burnt out no turn signal will work. This would be the easiest to check. If not then I would say something got melted on one of your wires and grounding out ,and this might be a ford issue to check...JMHO...LOL

Are all your problems with the TOAD hooked up?
I had some similiar problems with mine after a long trip pulling my TOAD. The wiring harness for the TOAD hook up had chaffed against the chassis of the the TOAD and shorted out the brake wire, however, it was also blowing the fuse to the brakes to the TOAD that is not the same as the brake fuse for the MH brakes. Both fuses are under the hood of the Ford. Look in your manual and you will see that there is a fuse for the brakes to the towed vehicle.

check grounds FIRST , they can realy play havoc with the system . if this system worked good at one time? check ground then start looling for chafed wires. good hunt this problem can drive you buggy.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I repsced the turn signal fuse and the second brake fuse (there are 2 10A fuses underneath right next to the brake). The system has been working great for the last couple of years. For some reason, it blew the fuse in both the turn signal and brake at the same time. Either this is coincicence or there is something else wrong so, I hooked up the TOAD and drove it around for a short while and all looked good. I will crawl underneath the MH next weekend to see if I could find a shorted wire.
