I think a lot depends on what your interests are - do you like to hike, bicycle, swim, fish, canoe etc. Some parks are more suited to certain activities than others. Also whether or not you are trying to entertain kids make a difference. Many parks have nature programs that are well suited for families while others have nothing.

I agree it depends on what you are looking for. Here are a yew we like.
Pinery- -Great beaches, great kids programs
Sandbanks- -Best sand beach, great kids programs
Grundy Lake- -Great canoe lakes, good swimming, great wildlife, great wilderness, best thunderstorm sounds. (the sound bounces off the canadain shield and echoes)
Sibbald Point- -Beautiful colors in the fall camping.
Bronte- -close to home for a quick outing and great for group get togethers.
These are a few reasons we like the parks. If you tell us what you are looking for in a park we can help you alot more.

Best Ontario Parks: We have been in about 100 Ontario Parks and find that almost all have plus and minus features depending upon what you want or are looking for. We like to fish, so going to the Northern parks is what we like, but we also like the winter, so MacGregor, Pinery and Algonquin are great spots. Pukaskwa National Park on the Northshore of Lake Superior is awesome. So please, give those of us who want to respond a bit more information...

We have 3 small kids f6, m4, m1 so things to keep them busy we have gone canoing at Pinery which was great. Would like to do some fishing, biking, nice beaches. I have been to Balsam was nice because it is close, small beach and busy lake. Awenda sites were nice was only there two days??? Pinery we liked but is a 3.5 hour drive. Sandbanks is on our list and was thinking Bon echo but is a little far. Maybe try some of the closer ones

Six Mile is close and nice but you'll always hear some noise from the highway.
Bass Lake was a negative in my books.
What type of camper do you have? The pull throughs at Six Mile Lake are terrible.

In my opinion, awesome! Fantastic private sites, great trails, great beaches and good tourist traps nearby.

I have tent camped at Rockwood PP and really liked it. Guelph lake was really nice but I remember that the lake was a little far from our site. I have also heard that Killbear is just to die for, but you need to make reservations at least 6 months in advance (but I am no hearing that's what is needed to get a good site at any Prov. Park)

We are going to make reservations for Turkey point. We want to go late in the season since that's what EVERYONE we have spoken to is telling us to do. Apparently they have a great weekend of events on the Thanksgiving weekend.

We have also heard that Bronte Creek is nice to camp but since that's only a five minute drive for us we only go there for hiking and day trips. Can justify paying for camping only minutes from the house. Just wouldn't feel like getting away.
