Should I have expected more than 2 1/2 years out of my trailer tires? They are "Duro" brand tires with about 9,000 miles tops on them. I just went to check tire pressure today for a trip and I noticed that all four tires have dry rot. The tire pressure was ok. I park it in the shade so direct sunlight is not the problem. I left a message for the dealer's service department to call me back on Monday. They are the tires that came with the trailer new, a 2006 Keystone Springdale. Are "Duro" tires "Cheapo" tires?
Thanks
Mike

Really, not any more than any of the other tires put on by any of the factories. The more you research tires here the more you find out that they all are pretty much the same. I just replaced a set of "Mission" ST tires that had 3 full seasons of use on them. One gave out at the end of last season, so I wanted to start this year with a new set. I replaced with "Towmaster" ST tires. They have a relatively good track history and look just like Marathons, and, by the way, the Missions I just took off. All are from China and it is very difficult to find any from anywhere else.. And would that guarentee that they would be better? I think not..
BTW check the date of manufacture of the tires and you may find them to be older than you think. Perhaps they sat around for some time before they were installed. My 2005 Komfort had tires fom early 2004.
My OEM Duro's cracked to pieces after 2 years. I replaced them with Maxxis and have been very pleased. Some on this forum have gotten decent service from Duro's but IMO they are chinese junk tires.

That's lousy you'd expect 4 or 5 years. But dry rot, I'm with you get em off the trailer. I keep reading about OK tires from Maxxis and some like the Goodyears.
I carefully watch tire posts because I run a tire store and want to have the answers when I need some new ones for my TT. I have OE Goodyear Marathons with about 10K on 'em. I store it outside but in a shady spot.
I am on the fence between ST's and P metric car tires. I'll probably do ST's when the time comes. I have 14" size so LT's are not an option. If I had a 16" wheel I'd think hard about LT's.

Maxxis are not Chinese, just installed two new ones a few days ago.
How old were the Duros per DOT code. Some people sell/install old tires and sell as new.
My made in USA Cooper STs lasted almost 40,000 miles so far.

My Duros have done the same thing, cracked and discolored after 2 1/2 years and only a couple of thousand miles....I am replacing them in the next couple of weeks with maxxis.
I ran a DURO as a spare on my Coachmen trailer along with 3 Goodyear Marathons. The DURO was a low cost bias ply tire and it was worn out after about 15,000 miles and the other three Goodyears were still on the trialer when I traded it at 40,000 miles. The DURO only cost about half as much as the Goodyear so it wasn't QUITE as bad as first glance would indicate but still no bargain.

Ditto. My Duro's lasted until the start of their 3rd season. Then I had a blowout.
Do yourself a favor avoid the expense and aggravation of a blowout. Get rid of the Duros. I upgraded to load range E Maxxis tires and 80 psi rims.
I just replaced the tires on my TT with another set of Goodyear Marathons, 205/75/14 load range C, orginal set was made in US and last 7 years.
New set made in China, did not know that until after they were installed and yes it does matter to me.
Will not buy another set made in China, if I have a option.
Just bought another set of Michelin Harmony's for my van and they are made in Canada, again did not want to buy foreign made tires, but was afraid of poor quality as Harmony's are very good tires.

ST's are supposed to have more carbon in them to protect them. Auto/truck tires are expected to be used, and in the process of use more carbon migrates to the outer surface as protection. Trailer tires are expected to sit much of their life.
I tried P-radials on a Jayco 16' and took them off first chance I got (moved them to my truck where they behaved nicely). Driving down the road the trailer had a lot of vertical bounce, plus side-to-side dipping that was heading to sway. I could even tell the difference just stepping into the trailer; it would dance a bit like being on fun-house platters.
