Because that would make your engine go poop-poop-poop.
Seriously, would someone please watch the Channel 5 video and tell me what they think after watching it?
Well, let me present a skeptic's side.
As an engineer I am very, very skeptical of any scheme that violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics as this one claims to.
I will not believe any test that isn't performed by engineers or scientists and is subjected to peer review.
The video shows nothing about how the amount of fuel used before and after the device was installed was measured.
The dyno doesn't do that - it had to be done by the TV folks.

I question how this system will work long term. You would be investing quite a bit of money ($1200), and then taking into account that they want you to use Distilled water ($1/gal) which will raise your costs for a tank-full.
Also, will this cause excessive wear for the rings, pistons, seals, etc.???
What are you really saving, if you have to bring the engine in for a complete overhaul every 2 years? I'm not saying this is the case, but I just don't know....

The original mpg is 9.4 and the "after" mpg is 23.2 mpg. 23.2 is more that twice the original 9.4 mpg.
I would think that anyone that put that amount of time, money, and effort into a test, would understand how those numbers work. Of course, we are talking about Celebrities if indeed, It was a genuine TV news stations involved.

They did make a mistake in the calculation % gain. The math does work out to be 61% if you are getting 23 mpg and a 61% drop in mileage would be around 9 mpg So, it is all in how you look at it. But even an actual 61% gain would be nothing to sneeze at.

I cannot believe that in this day and age, anyone would even consider such an obvious scam.
Did I tell you about the machine that I have invented to make gold out of used kitty litter?
Looking for investors.
So Channel 5 is out and out a part of this scam? Is that what you are saying? I don't know if it works or not, but their investigation is being broadcasted amongst many other NBC affiliates including NBC affliate KSHB in Missouri, and several others. Gosh, this is a giant conspiracy for all these NBC news stations to be in on.
Years ago, my father put some sort of contraption on his Vega, connected to the carb, that had a small reservoir for water. He was an electrician at a facility that did all sorts of military and private testing and development (read that: space shuttle , x-15, stuff like that). He and his engineer buddies were all the time making things and trying things they read about. He ran the Vega with that thing on it for a few years, as long as he had it. He said it helped gas mileage and performance. I was in high school and could have cared less about it, so I can't say if it did or not.

Go to the website for channel 5 and click on the video.
You need to be a bit more aware of how these things work. There are some TV stations that prostitute themselves by selling their services to make commercials disguised to look like legitimate news stories. This is a good example. It is a scam. Call their news director and ask if they were paid to produce and air this piece.

According to the FCC, both WPTV and KSHB are owned by E.W.Scripps not much of a conspiracy theory, one has to wonder if the others that are showing it are also owned by the same company.
Wouldn't be the first time a media organization stretched and distorted information, now would it?
your not burning the water itself like some of the old devices they had years ago but hydrogen made from the process using water, something like they do with fuel cells I think it may work better on mileage then not having one, but who's got the money to throw away to try it just to find out. what do they do in below freezing weather add alcohol or menthol. hydrogen gas is very explosive just like the gas coming from your battery when its charging.you could always make a still to make your own distilled water if you wanted to.
