Will be purchasing new ST or LT 225/75R15 D or E tires for my Arctic Fox 27-5L (GVWR 13000Lbs) and would like someone to explain how and where to look to see if tires are from China so I don't buy them.

Look on the sidewall of the tire, close to the edge of the rim. It will say in small letters "Made in China".
MAXXIS makes a ST225/75R15 load range E (10 ply rating) and they're not made in China. Do a search and you'll see mostly positive feedback on them.

Many tires DO NOT say where they are made anywhere in words. The DOT code always tells you, by federal law.
Note complete DOT code is normally only put on one side of each tire, per Murphy, the side underneath your RV. Note if yours is a dually, DOT code is likely between duals.
Example from a tire: DOT MA L9 ABCD 036
DOT is Dept of Transportation,
MA is Mfg Plant Code (see http://www.harriger.com/exptire.htm),
L9 is a tire size code,
ABCD is optional manufacturer info,
036 is mfg date (in this case third week of unspecified year ending in 6, but not 2006)
The newer tires are using 4 digits, the first 2 = the week, and the last 2 = the year.
For example 4202 = 42nd week of 2002.

15" ST trailer tires carry more weight than 15" LT light truck tires--that's just the way they're made.
You may not like to buy more Chinese stuff, but some of their tires are good. Buy a reputable brand with a good reputation regardless of where they're made. There are no ST tires made in North America any more.

I just put the very set of Maxxis, that Amxpress spoke of in his post, on my FW. Took it out on a trip this weekend about 3 hours out, and had no problems. I replaced a 6 year old set of GY Marathons with the Maxxis. I will say that I never had any issues with the Marathons, just didn't want any Chi Com Marathon tires back on it. The other set I had where made in USA. The new Maxxis seem to perform just fine. I had also just put a new set of Michelins on my 250. The truck and trailer really handled nicely.
I would tend to support the recommendation for an "E" rated tire if you cannot adapt to a 16 inch wheel. Be sure to check your current wheel PSI rating as the E tires take 80 PSI.
Well, after reading soooooo many stories on 15" vs 16" tires and finding out the 16" were an option for my Arctic Fox 27-5L, today I purchased new 16" alum rims and LT235/85R-16E BFG Commercial Tires. The dealer said there should be good for 60,000 miles and speeds up to 85MPH (not that I intend to drive that fast). Also included filling with Nitrogen no charge. Thanks everyone for the input.

I think that was a wise decision! Nice you had the clearance for the 16 inch...I am stuck with the 15's!

Did I usderstand this correctly? Three hours out and you had no problems? Sorry, big, whoop! Talk to us when you have 10K on them.
It seems, regardless of what the make -- or where they are made -- trailer tires seem to explode these days.
Talk to us about 3 of 4 properly maintained Denmans, with 10,000 miles on them, having the tread peel off last summer.
It's turning into a******shoot where tires are concerned.
