We recently had some major leak issues with the toyhauler, so bad that they had to replace the whole drivers side. Well the problem is now the generator seems to heat up so bad that the counter top and the stove are hot to the touch AND the o2 monitor goes off. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Is there something easy, like a something not plugged in or a hole that is plugged up? Our dealer is 2 1/2 hours away and we were hoping to fix the problem ourselves. Any suggestions would be great. ty

Is the genset on the same side as the repair? Sounds like this started to happen after the repair? Sounds like your leaking exhaust fumes inside and do not have airflow to cool the generator. Check the area under the gen. Their is openings for the hot air to vent out, also check the whole exhaust pipe carefuly, maybe it became disconnected somewhere. Make sure you do this with the unit cold so you do not burn yourself. Grab the exhaust pipe and move it around, does it seem to be hooked up correctly? Get you genset owners manual out, it should show a cooling diagram for airflow around the gen. , the install manual may help you more. Can't think of anything else right now, good luck.

Maybe they left out the insulation around the generator and forgot the seal the compartment?

Look to see how the air-cooled generator has one place for air to get in to it, and another place for air to get out. It probably needs a fan for air circulation. If it doesn't have flow-through air circulation, it can no nothing but overheat.

All men over age 50 should get an annual PSA blood test. Mine had a low reading, but the yearly jump was significant. The biopsy showed cancer just entering the aggressive stage. Dr. Hackenslash removed it.

If it's a Onan 4~5.5k it need to botoom open to vent. They may have not cut out the floor under the gen after repairs.
