Has anyone wired their ody. for a trailer plug. I am looking for guidance to make the job as easy and solid as possible.
Thanks

Are you talking about towing it. Or towing a trailer with the Odyssey??

Sorry about that, I'm looking to tow a pop up with the Ody. Trailer has electric brakes, so I need to wire for that with a brake controller.
Thanks,
D

Buy the Honda or aftermarket T1 connector for trailer lights. Then you need to custom wire the brake controller and aux power line from the battery all the way back to the 7 round.

If you can wire a ceiling fan to have the lights on a separate circuit than the fan, you've got the skills to wire a brake connector. The Tekonsha Prodigy comes with a decent wiring diagram. While you are at it, run a dedicated ground all the way back to the battery. The ground on the T1 4 flat is much too light for the extra current from brakes. Use at LEAST 12 gage braided wire, preferably 10 gage for the brake hot line, aux hot line and aux ground. They say you need a self-resetting breaker, but I've yet to blow my 15 amp fuse.

I did my 03 Odyssey in about 4 hours. Use HandA.com for instructions on how to get to the T1 connector inside the rear interior plastic.

Thanks for the info. Where would I route the wires from battery to brake controller to 7 pin plug? Also, where did you have the wires from the T1 connector pass through to the hitch?
