Our first ever trip in the 5er is over and all went fairly well for ROOKIES. Left Friday morning for Knoeble's campground in Elysburg,PA. Except for some heavy rain here and there no problems. Pulled up to the water fill area and couldn't understand why my fresh tank wasn't getting full till I realized I attached the hose to the city water outlet. Backed into site with no problem.

Now I have a question. I have 3 valves next to the water heater and I had all 3 open to de-winterize. When I tried to run the hot water it kept switching from hot to cold and never sustained the hot water. My buddy who traveled with us also had the same problem but he figured his out by closing the valve in the middle. I was going to try this but then my DW yelled to me that we were out of water. I guess in all my trouble shooting and 2 showers and not pumping the water through the water heater and lines and not topping off the water after all this,we ran out.. LESSON LEARNED.

I hope this is the worst thing that ever happens but I am fairly sure it won't be.

Fuel mileage on trip was 10 MPG going and 9.5 coming home.

Any more info on my water problem is greatly appreciated.

Thank You all for your postings !

The middle valve is the bypass. With it open and the other two close,d you can fill the pipes with antifreeze without wasting a bunch filling the heater. In normal use the middle is closed and the others are open.
