Working backwards on the latest list of recommendations:
We very much like the Citation/Corsair product - the factory is very near where we live. Our issue with this one is the dividing wall between the kitchen/dining and the living area in their 38 ft model. We like an open plan. It is on our short list but is now competing with a new model 37 foot Escalade which is coming out next month, and 2 of the Carriage line - the Cameo F37RE3 with the Arizona Room or the CarriLite CL36SBQ with the Arizona Room. All of these are well built and guaranteed for full timing.
Richfaa - you hit the nail on the head. Lots of contributors seem to have missed reading our desire to buy a high end product which can withstand regular travel and year round use. Fleetwood is not designed for continuous use.
We know that the Bighorn is popular, but when you compare the inside and outside finish and the quality of the fittings, with the three brands on our short list, it is clear that the Bighorn is engineered and priced for the casual user, not serious full time use.
All of this discussion is definitely helping us to focus our thoughts though, thank you. It's a good thing we have so many choices - there's a product to suit every budget and every degree of usage.

For the length we want - at least 36 feet, Teton Homes are unfortunately too heavy. But they are really nice, no doubt about that.

Gee...I'm glad I found out my fulltime use isn't "serious"...who'd a thunk! I'm also glad I found out that price is the only determining factor in quality...how could we have been so uninformed! LOL

Excel RV's
Maybe you want to look at these. A small company that I am told will incorporate features you want into their designs. Factory rep told me they have no problem building in what you want.
From what I have seen, a very nice quality trailer, with good customer satisfaction.

Order a custom Teton...they will build what you want. A bigger vanity? just order it. They have come out with a new smaller fiver....
Our W/D is a GE Spacesaver stack and the washer is full size. The dryer takes a bit longer....oh well! It does a fine job and I hate laundromats

Teton is heavier, no denying that. However, I think you will find that a similar sized Teton to a Carri-Lite have relatively close weights as well. When I was shopping, the Teton was wider, taller, and the slides were deeper, but the weight was on at about 4-7% more. Considering the room, I felt it wsa a better value. Mind you, this was 2007. I doubt the 2008s weigh anything more.
Definitely a high quality rig. I have mine sitting at a lake in AL right now and many storms and tornadoes have been passed through in recent weeks. Several damaged campers, but that Teton has taken the wind without much movement and the windows have kept the noise to a minimum. I am VERY pleased with my purchase.
