I could use some help here. I have a 6 gal DSI water heater that is working fine. Our water temp has been fine for all of the trips (meaning that you actually have to add cold to make it bearable). The water is not hot coming out of the faucet anymore. As a pure guess, the water is reaching about 100-105 degrees with only hot on. I trouble shot and found that the heater is fine. My only conclusion is that the hot water bypass valve is leaking water up through it (mixing in the supply line)and into the tank which is giving me my luke warm water. When checking, if I turned off the valve, I got a shot of hot water right before the cold water ran through the pipe. I can only guess that this is due to the sudden pressure of the cold being pushed behind what hot was left in the line. What I am asking is, could there be any other possible way for cold water to be mixing in with the hot other than this valve? Thanks for any input.

Yes
Outside shower taps are on and the valve at the head is off , same thing for the bathroom shower

Just a shot in the dark here, do you have an outside shower? Have heard of instances where shower head was turned off but valves were open allowing water to mix thru the outside valve. If you do not have outside shower my suggestion is way OFF.
My feet are fine as long as they are traveling.

I do have an outside shower and I am pretty sure that it is off unless someone other than my family has been around the camper..., but I will try anything. The water is cold at all faucets, kitchen, tub and sink in bath if this means anything. Thanks for the input.

It's the outside shower! We had the same problem! It doesn't make any sense to me, but then I'm not a plumber or an RV technician, just an owner that didn't want to have to take the RV in for service.

If your by-pass for the water heater uses three valves, you still must have the by-pass valve open. The inlet (bottom feed) & outlet (top feed) should be open all the way. The by-pass valve must be fully closed. It sounds like this valve is not closed all the way. Place some oil, or wd-40 on the valve-stem. Open all the way and reclose all the way. The valves stick some times and may not have been fully closed. If this valve was also open, water would follow this route more than through the water-heater.

Those durn outside shower valves cause lots of posts. I, for one, have never used the outside shower - obviously some folks do. 'taint worth the grief, as long as you have an inside shower.
