This past week I brought the TT home out of storage to get ready to head to racetrack for the weekend. Much to my surprise while sitting on the street the DW calls me at work and tells me the CO detector is beeping. I told her the battery is low. She pulls out the electric cords and extensions and hooks to the the house to charge the battery. Well when we get to the racetrack we run the generator till we go to bed (11:00 PM) about 4:00 AM the beeping starts again. I have to get up and start the generator again. I had the battery checked today and it is good. What could be draining the battery? Could the invertor be bad?

Not all units run off the battery. My CO and Fire are self contained with AA Batteries. Have you checked yours. Other wise at be doing wild guesses. Like are your sure the refrigerator light is going off when the door is closed, any of the storage compartment lights left on kind of thing. Bill

I found out the hard way that a radio/cd amplifier pulls juice even when yhe radio is off. I put a switch in-line and no more drain.

The gist of rollincool's post is check to see if your breakaway switch is pulled out which powers the TT brakes at all times. I have also accidentally left my breaker for my converter turned off and had a night of propane detector h---.

If you were running your furnace it will drain your battery fairly quickly if you have a marine/rv (read modified starting battery ). If your fridge has the climate control switch in the on position that is another big drain on your battery. Lighting wouldn't normally be a problem since you had your generator running earlier but are you sure it was charging your battery? What voltage was the battery reading when you turned the generator off? I know, more questions than answers but more information is needed to make any kind of GUESS about why you had a problem. Good luck / Skip
