I have been using an inline meter for years along with the azimuth and elevation settings which gets me close enough that I rarely pick up the wrong satellite. Soon as I get a strong signal on the meter my wifes hollers "downloading the guide".

Just get a couple FRS HTs and have your wife yell at you when it's right.
I just got back from my 3-Girls-Running-Away-From-Home trip from TN to Waterton, Glacier, and Yellowstone...
But I have a question - what's "FRS HTs"???? And if my "wife" yelled at me, I'd be gay, because I'm a girl myself...boy, what a surprise that'd be for my husband, eh? (the surprise would be the "gay" part, not the "girl" part...he knows I'm a girl!!!)

FRS radio is a UHF radio system the FCC allocated for personnel use, no license is required. Its limited to line of site and low wattage. They are very handy and basically are a direct replacement for the CB radio but since their FM there is no noise like with the CB. They generaly have many channels plus they have a tone generated code you set to match your other radio to avoid interference from someone else BUT other peopple if they are tuned onto the same channel can here you and talk to you so CAUTION on what you say .
They are reasonably inexpensive and really come in handy.
Any outdoor store, WallMart, Radio shack, Gander Mountain, Dicks Sporting Goods etc sells them.
