I just received a catalog today from Cabellas with a small rechargeable air conditioner. They were asking $79.99. Looked like a great idea. Anybody here seen it or have one?
Saw a camper with a small room window AC unit all duct taped to their tent last month at Sebastian Inlet SP, FL. I know I was smiling as I walked by. The campers seemed very happy too.

Do you have room for a child? Consider fostering/adopting a child. Thousands of children are in need of a loving family.
I saw that, too. The online reviews say it's not that great. The two main reasons we bought a RV was because of lack of temperature control and potty in our tent (or any tent). If I know the temperature won't be comfortable, then I won't tent camp there. I'll bring the trailer. Which I do most of time.
However, I still like to tent camp; but only when I won't be too hot or too cold in the tent. The main reason for needing an air conditioner in a tent (for me anyway) is for sleeping. A couple hours of cool, damp air just won't cut it. If, for some ungodly reason I was going to sleep in a tent where it will be warm all night and hot after sunrise I'd definitely be looking into an AC Boot.

Put that money down on a Royal Sovereign room a/c unit that is on casters. Dont waste money on those over the ice cooler type designs. You will just be adding humidity to the inside of your tent and wake up with condensation inside your tent. You can buy the Royal Sovereigns or equvalent units via Sears, Amazon, Target, Sams Club. All you need for a tent is 5000 btu. I am not talking a window unit.
