My refrigerator (a Dometic Auto Temperature) has begun to get ice on the fins. It seems like it had formed water droplets that then froze. The temperature in both the freezer and fridge are fine and the door seals are perfect. I am staying in the Florida Keys this month and it has been hot during the day but I do try to not keep the door open too long. Any reason to be concerned about this? Don

That's normal. Defrost when it starts toget thick as it'll cut performance and increase propane use.

Yup, true. RV refrigerators are not frost free like at home.

I noticed the same problem when I was in Sugarloaf. The heat was working my fridge over big time! I found leaving my A/C on during the day to keep the inside temp bearable, helped the fridge from working to hard.

Also thought about getting a little fan to help blow out the hot air in the back of the fridge area....I guess were the cooling fins are. I hear that helps aswell in very hot weather....

Try raising the temp one notch. Mine cleared up.

Mine has a humidity switch that helps keep frost from building up. Beware, however that this feature runs all the time on the 12V when switched on and draws significant current and can drain your battery as it has mine.

If you are in a humid area, such as Florida, moist air will enter the fridge every time you open it then condense on the fins. The fins usually run at or below freezing so it will freeze.
