My 1988 Winnebago has a locking door for the gas filler. I'm sure it could be jimmied, but have never had a problem. My previous motorhome, a 1972 Revcon, had a non-locking and fully accessible gas cap. I did have it siphoned once (and gas was well under $1 a gallon then)

Someone just siphoned the diesel out of my backhoe, I had just filled it so they probably got 17 or 18 gallons. I welded up a nice locking mechanism for it so they wont get any more from my tank.
I agree there is nothing worse the liars or thief's
As for politicians, As far as I am concerned they are both liars and thief's.

Let's see - anybody want to go into business? I'm thinking a motion sensor activated rattle that sounds like a rattle snake, behind the panel just below the tank fill. I can't think of anything else that would make a gas thief back off so quickly.

My '06 Sea Breeze doesn't have a fuel door. And The fill up line is very prominent at the rear of my coach. We were at a Casino Campground in MS when I heard something that woke me up. Upon investigating (With my gun by the way) I found a hose lying on the ground at the rear of the MH and my gas cap was off. I also can not stand a thief. I am looking for a locking cap now.

I am sure that most people take the time to lock the doors of their car to protect items far less valuable than the gas in your RV. 75gal of gas at almost $4/gal...I vote for the locking gas cap!
